Our problem is the old fricking people who sit on their damns hands and report you if you have alcohol and tell you to sit down when you just scored.

I wish they would have died with the Burrr.

The Swamp didn't sound that loud to me when we went down in 2011.

I think it's partly this and the way that BDS is built. Notice that BDS, the Shoe, Happy Valley and the Big House never make these "loudest stadiums" list. It's not because these schools don't have crazy fans. It's just something about 100,000+ stadiums that dampens noise. That's a thing that you LSU and A&M fans should think about.

Right, I'm sure adding 7,000 seats to TS will "dampen the noise."

I don't doubt that this is a factor, but at the same time there is just something about your fan base that is more boring and docile than other fans. IMO it's related to the baptist roots in alabama.

Then how do you explain Auburn? And aren't y'all mostly Catholic in Louisiana?

they are only marginally better really but I would say being under bama's thumb has stoked the flames over there.

I been to Florida and it was not real loud. I have been to LSU 10+ times and it is special. BDS was not overly impressive noise wise either. Just let us have our damn cowbells and we will try to keep up

That LSU game last year was insanely loud for a day game.

I've never been to a game where our fans were louder. Was really impressive.

No.

My friend is actually in engineering (doesn't go to LSU) school and during one of his lectures, they talked about stadiums and why some are loud and others are not.
It is the acoustics in the stadium that can make them louder than others. Sort of like Oregon's stadium usually ranks up there. While it doesn't even sit 60,000, the way it was built retains all the sound.

Unlike the Big House or UT's stadium, they weren't built up high but more out, so they don't retain all the volume.

They just pulled this list out of their butt. Notice how it includes teams from all over the country.

New Orleans/South Louisiana Catholic is quite different than "regular" Catholic.

I'm pretty sure it broke due to the stupid frick waving his hands infront of the camera like a special kid.

Eh it all depends on who is winning and whose school is on a PR campaign for being 'loud.' During the 90s ESPN couldn't keep their cameras from shaking during certain times of UT-UF broadcasts (something I've never seen before since and cameras were even heavier back then and sat on heavy tripods to boot) but these days it's not only tame but shamefully quiet all too often (resembles Arlington Cemetery). Autzen is the same way, before they went on a run ripping through the the PAC, no one called them loud but now they're earsplitting (no question they're still earsplitting but not nearly as loud as hyped). Who heard of noise at VA Tech before Vick? Their inclusion now is still a new one. And Wisconsin? That's a new one. The Swamp also used to be earsplitting but again it's changed. A&M? Yet another no one mentioned until lately, and specifically before Manziel came along.

Death Valley, OTOH, has had a reputation for much longer though it certainly gets silent at times and has certainly been silent before success.

So much is an objective measure despite various attempts to prove who is loudest. Personally, I just love seeing a hyped up crowd whether it's considered the loudest or not -- it just adds to the excitement of watching games.

BDS isn't exactly built for noise with the way the stadium and the upper decks basically circle the field rather than being "on top of it" like you get at Death Valley, the Swamp, Auburn, etc.

Common knowledge.
WE ARE THE CATHEDRAL OF COLLEGE FOOTBALL. WE ARE LOUD AND WE ARE HAUNTED.
