Meh, it was a shorthanded Big 10 team.
Props to them for at least showing up, LSU was in the same position last year.

The team looked sharp and focused which is a huge upgrade from these types of bowls they've played in in the past. However, Perdue was missing their starting QB, WR and head coach. It is what it is. While impressive it should have no bearing on next year.

See Auburn v. Purdue in a bowl game in 2018. I think it was 56-7 at the half. Surely Auburn must have won some conference and national championships since then right?

LSU lost a lot of quality players before this season.
Hard to imagine how good they would have been if just half of those guys had stayed.

I wish I could go back and find the post I made right after the FSU game saying they would be a force to be reckoned with by season’s end. Even the LSU guys were saying pump the brakes.
