Paying out the arse for a non revenue sport. Let’s see how that goes.

Especially when you had to beg coaches to take a pay cut last year.

Fair enough. I should’ve qualified my statement by saying “LSU fans on this board” don’t support women’s sports. And they don’t. They’re militant about it.

LSU fans on this board don’t support A&M in any sport. That shouldn’t be a surprise. And it also shouldn’t be a surprise that people on this type of forum say dumb stuff that is not necessarily reflective of an entire fan base.

LSU’s women’s basketball coach has accomplished more than the entire Texas AM athletic program since WWII...OOF

Could have chosen a better picture. She looks like a walking dead zombie.
That's why her nickname is Skeletor. She doesn't have any better pictures - she's just an ugly woman

What the heck is up with the LSU excitement over her?
Is it her Louisiana roots?
I’m thinking those kids know little to nothing about her.
Scratching my head.

I’d say it’s 3 part really.

First: She’s a winner. Not much else needs to be said about that.

Second: The LA ties. She grew up here and won titles in HS and at LA tech. Also her son playing baseball at LSU has a lot to do with it. You could have played a drinking game out of how many times espn would show her and talk about her being Kramer Robertson’s mom. It became a running joke for years.

Third: LSU needed a win in the women’s’ sports area with all the Miles/Guice stuff going around. The school investing that much into a major women’s sport gives a break in the bad press.

And just like that LSU cares about WBB. I have been told that WBB doesn't matter because it loses alot money and it just doesn't matter. Funny how things change.

Lots of butthurt, where is that coming from...

If we want to hire a 2 million dollar WBB Coach, what's the issue ?

She us a Hall of Fame Coach, a class act and a Louisiana girl.

If we win a championship with her, what's the big deal, it's not like the Aggies, Gumps or State will ever win one.

Personally, I think it’s because she’s a Louisiana legend first. She lead her high school to four straight state championships, then went to La Tech and helped win the first women’s national championship and a second one. Then went on to win one as an assistant coach there.

Everyone is aware of her accomplishments at Baylor. When her son Kramer was playing baseball at LSU, she attended games as often as possible and the fan base loved that. She’s been on the wish list of many LSU fans for a very long time as well, especially after we went to five straight final fours and then the program declined with subsequent hires. I think you’re seeing a combination of all those things in why we are really excited about the hire.

Maybe they can finally join A&M, Tennessee and South Carolina as schools that have won a women's basketball title.
