LSU played Southern, Grambling, and Nicholls in week 2 in each of those years.
Let's not present it like LSU plays tough OOC and Alabama just plays cupcakes- Bama has been one of the few teams in the league that's scheduled a power 5 OOC opponent every year since Saban took over

We do not have a playoff in college football. It’s an invitational tournament with no standards. And the 12 team farce isn’t a playoff either. We will not have a real playoff until the super conference sets schedules, and has standards instead of a group of guys deciding who gets an invite.

Undefeated power conference teams would be in. It should have been the 3 undefeated untied power conference winners and Texas due to the tie breaker between Texas and Bama. Those 4 teams earned a playoff berth.
What we have is an invitational tournament, not a playoff.

Lets stay on week one shall we. LSU has played one of the hardest week 1 OOC in years past. Not a warm up week then play someone worth a damn in week 2 or 3. That was the topic of discussion.
