Sure it is. By the letter of the law, 5 for 5 no longer includes medical redshirts. It’s a true 5 to play 5. Chambliss was granted a 6th year because of an “illness” 5 years ago.
Some guys that were in NFL camps were waived and had eligibility left according to the 5 for 5 rule. There is/was no rules about those guys coming back until Lane did it. It was only THEN the conferences made a move.
The bottom line is this is all on the NCAA for not having its shite together. They are fully incapable of running an operation as vast as college athletics.

If playing previously ruled ineligible players may result in future penalty, sounds like some schools not named LSU may need to rethink their situation as well.
But this isn't about that, right?
Glass houses and all

think folks forget what the T in TRO stands for.
The T stands for "T- Sankey is losing control of the SEC and college football, and his legacy is in jeopardy"

My understanding is that nothing prevents a school from signing these players. However, whether those players are actually eligible to compete is a different matter altogether.

Will LSU care about risking $25 million of tv revenue?

CFP won't let them in with pro players

Going to be rough when they have to forfeit all those games later too.

Try to keep up
With retroactive directives and punishments? We have 3 crystal balls and I still don’t think we can predict what the SEC is going to do in the future. They’re not exactly proactive-everything they do is out of panic.
