No they did not. It was probably better than next year's LSU defense though

LSU's D had the advantage of an effective offense.

UGA's had to overcome a 3 and out machine and was incredibly effective.

If the UGA offense can consistently sustain drives next season it's going to be scary.

Tua had a better game than Lawrence. He had 200 more yards and 4 more touchdowns and a better percentage.

I would say the REAL National Championship game was LSU-Bama. I was more emotional and hung on every play in that game. The winner would eventually be national champs. That game to me was the greatest game of the year.

As for defenses, Georgia ain’t had shite on Auburn.

I would say Auburn and UGA both had a better defense in the SEC alone.

It makes this board feel better to believe that LSU didn’t have an elite defense. It’s weird, but it’s one way they are coping.

Must have been the worst year for defenses in decades.

Greatest offense ever with an asterisk?

Do you realize how many TD drives LSU had that were less than 2-3 minutes? LSU wasn’t running many 5-8 min drives. We did it to close out games, but generally we were flying down the field. Time to rest on the sideline was basically the same as having your crappy 3 and out offense.
