Somewhat unusual to see 2 teams within 20 yards of each other.

Y'all were within 20 points too, pretty cool IMHO.

So really then, this is a pointless thread?

Yep. If your team loses, there's no point in discussing the game at all. If you do, you're making excuses and looking for a moral victory, even when it's obvious that you're not.

Another day on the SECr.

LSU played the 1st quarter of each half and then took a nap. Their yardage split was something like 180/60/150/60

This man gets it. I thought the performance overall sucked wookie dick. Playing half games will eventually get you beat. Congrats to Auburn for fighting til the end.

The first LSU loss will be the refs fault. After the third you'll be stating publicly that this is a young team.

The meltdown will be laughable... like your post.

We loss, it sucks. The early turnover and drop by our punter were huge and we are down 14-0. We made adjustments at half. We had two long passes to set up touchdowns and LSU was not playing soft.

Rain. Penalties (bogus motion call comes to mind), lack of refs calling holding penalties, our early defensive strategy and Jake Holland killed us.

Last years team would have quit, I am happy for the effort. It was a loss to the better team and it sucked.

Better times are coming.

I didn't think they were playing soft on defense at all in the 2nd half... On our final drive of the game that started at our own 12, Chavis blitzed several times to try any get pressure on Marshall.

On offense, definitely... Miles took his foot off the gas and left his defense swinging in the wind a bit. LSUs defense is just not as good as in years past and the O will have to carry this team if they wanna win the west.

Yep. And the 1st half play calling was frustrating as hell. We were running the ball great and they kept stepping on their own toes.

The teams weren't as miss matched as the first half indicated. We kept shooting ourselves in the foot and LSU did a great job of making the most of the extra opportunities we were giving them.

The better team clearly won, but the AU players and coaches showed me something by not rolling over.

It wad a mismatch for the most part....the gimmicky offense combined with a team just trying to run out the game clock to stay healthy for next week is what made it seem remotely close

Yep. Miles looked like he just wanted to sit on his lead and get out of there. I hate that because it gasses the D.

Not really. We ran the ball effectively the whole game. QB let the circumstances rattle him early and LSU is too good offensively to do that. LSU didn't get conservative offensively until mid fourth quarter and never got too conservative on d. We just hit a few deep balls and a few more passes to keep drives alive in the 2nd.

Our O was conservative the whole 2nd qt. It was our O from years past. 3 up the gut and punt. Sitting on a big lead trying to run clock, its why so many teams come back on us and forces us to keep starters in late.

I'm not reading all of this shite, but that game was a blow out and the gas was taken off at halftime.

You had a bit of sucess running up the gut in the first quarter. It isn't conservative to keep going back to the well until the other team shows they have adjusted.

Believe what you will, but dropped snaps on a punt, a fumbled exchange and a rattled qb made the mismatch seem larger than it was.

LSU was the better team. I'm not taking credit away, just offering an observation.

Because LSU did give Auburn any gifts in this game either.

I just didn't see the "conservative" approach from LSU's defense... and if they were playing cover-two as mentioned earlier, then there's no excuse for giving up the two long bombs to Coates... that's just poor DB play.

Next week in athens is going to be interesting... Gurley should get his yards, but Mett and Hill should have a field-day with a pretty crappy UGA defense.
