They should let him go to TCU.

thought Bama was in the right concerning the UGA transfer. It's a tad different but it still made sense to me. As for LSU and TCU, recruiting players from another team is a major no no.
Nick brought this up a couple of weeks ago about one of the new transfer rules and said do you really want teams like Alabama coming after your players that are really good but burried behind other players. The teams that compete for NC every year will be the ones who benefit the most bybthis. Now it's Alabama and Ohio state but in a few years maybe it's Texas or Oklahoma or Penn State or LSU again. Who knows. It's a bad precedent to set allowing schools to go after committed players.

Hell no, not if they're contacting our current players on the roster.
Some insiders are saying this isn't the first time TCU has done this recently either. Send the message that they cant do this crap...

Blocking him from going in the SEC is expected and understandable. I was wondering what the deal is with TCU, but now we are hearing the reason. I not only agree with blocking him to TCU. But I wonder if that is a NCAA violation to recruit a player at one school to go to another?
If it was coaching staff, then yes, against the rules.
But coaching staffs typically aren't dumb enough to directly contact these kids, they use other people to do the contacting, therefore, not against the rules/not really traceable. So in this instance, it wasn't "against the rules" if TCU was using non-coaching staff members, but still definitely a big no no. Glad Coach O put his foot down on this one. Can't have that crap going on.

This is okay, unless Alabama does it.
Alabama was trying to do it to someone WHO HAD ALREADY frickING GRADUATED. Big difference but I'm sure you are not intelligent enough to understand the difference.

There are rumors that TCU was recruiting him while he was at LSU to transfer.
Same reason we blocked Kyler Murray and Kyle Allen from being able to transfer to t.u. but allowed them to transfer to Oklahoma and Houston respectively.

You try to recruit guys on our active roster, we block them from going to your school. Pretty simple.
No doubt but I remember everybody crucifying Nick Saban for not letting Maurice Smith go to Georgia to the point he finally said frick it and let him go. Another SEC school.

I read somewhere that player transfer issues were a main impetus of the new 4 Year Scholarship rule. The NCAA was being threatened with lawsuits because players weren't happy about being penalized for transfers when their schollys were only 1 year agreements.

I was wrong. Tyron Johnson went to Okie State.
our WR corps is insane next year. He is starting next year as the 5th WR option or lower. See how he grows.

Yes, without the drama Saban would've caught hell anyway, but the other stuff publicly stated (true or not) is what caused the circus.
Saban did not get crucified for the Raheem Falkins transfer blocks/exclusions. Yeah, some outlets mentioned it but nothing like the Smith transfer.
So to use Smith as the standard shouldn't be done. Have to look at them all, and the reactions.

Once a student has GRADUATED (the sole purpose of college) his time there is done. Sports are extracurricular activities and not necessary to the functional purpose of school.
