When a 20 point loss became a fluke according to certain posters.

To be honest... dawgs were getting slapped in the grill, not punched. We were kicking FGs, not scoring TDs.

No excuses on my part. LSU simply handed our arse to us that day. I don't buy the being flat part of it, both teams took the field and LSU played better. Period

That is what was so troubling about the fake field goal.

There was nothing wrong at that point in the game assuming a typical SEC football game (and not a shootout).

I rewatched it. The game was much closer than the score indicates. Here’s what I came away with:

1. Uga did miss at least one walk in TD. So did LSU....,but uga’s was in the first series.
2. Uga should have kept running Holyfield.
3. Game was stilll close in 4th quarter.
4. Uga had some turnovers.
5. LSU’s fourth down conversions.

Lsu played with a lot of intensity and UGA didn’t match that. Uga’s performance was much better than I remembered.

Sounds about right - also noteworthy that we were getting gashed by your rushing attack for big chunk plays. Game would have been closer if Fromm didn't play like complete shite but LSU probably had our number that day.

Georgia got better defensively because of LSU.

Jordan Davis and Eric Stokes got opportunities and made the most of them after that game.

I think UGA, Bama, and Clemson make the playoffs this season. The fourth team will be most likely a big 10 or big 12 team that will take the last playoff spot.

I knew that was bad news when it happened. Didn't forsee an arsewhippen, but knew it did not help matters.

You are being too kind. All I can say is that I hope Kirby learned something from that game. LSU was tougher, and knew that Fromm could be rattled. O did a good job of coaching that day.

And Kirby/ Chaney did not. 1st drive we didn't throw the ball. Moved down the field. Then went run & shoot air-raid the remainder of the game...well after it was clear Fromm couldn't throw the ball threw an open garage door that day.

I do wonder how much of that was Fromm checking at the line of scrimmage. I have no doubt that LSU was giving Fromm a lot of looks that would normally mean he checks out of a run and into a pass. The problem was he couldn’t pass that day.

Fromm has a lot of responsibility for ultimate play selection at the LOS. Possible that his pre-snap reads backfired that day.

Surely some LSU fans were nervous when hardman returned that punt inside the LSU 40 right after we scored a td and forced a punt. Who knows what happens if Fromm didn’t take a costly sack knocking us out of fg range

As soon as UGA tried the completely unnecessary fake fg, I knew the game was over. In a SEC dogfight on the road against a team that wins as many big slugfests as LSU you TAKE THE FREAKIN POINTS when you can get them. It was indicative of a mind set. UGA was not willing to pay the price to win that game. They wanted to coast to a win. Imho, and I am not flaming, that was as poor of a coaching display as I have seen. LSU felt disrespected and they put the beat down on UGA.

Technically, we didn't abandon the run until midway in the 4th quarter when we were facing the clock (the fumble 5 minutes in the 4th quarter by Hardman on the kickoff killed our ability to stay on the ground).

Fans make too big a deal of the percentage for playcalling in that game. We were business as usual for 3.5 quarters.

What fans want but arent saying is that we should have abandoned the pass game. It wasnt working. So instead of the normal 62/38 run/pass split, they wanted 75/25. Or more.

Of course we abandoned the run with about 7 minutes to go and down by 3 scores. That is what good coaching does. It led to a 5 play 1:20 minute drive for a TD. Unfortunately on the second try and still down by 3 scores, Fromm throws the INT.
