Maybe we’ll eventually make the coaching change we need to.

Baseball is cruel. Plus injuries really hurt us.

Collapse for either team doesn’t really matter….

The memories of the title runs are magnificent!

Each year is its own entity.

So the following year is not relevant to the championship team of the previous year because the roster is different, the schedule is different, coaching different (at least in LSU’s case) etc.

Point taken that it is difficult to repeat in any sport and in some cases the teams success falls way more than you would expect it to. That is what happened to LSU and State respectively.

Did MSU lose basically the entire roster to the draft?

No not the entire roster but some important pieces did go on to pro ball or graduate. Then the returning players did not produce this year. Simply put. Pitching was atrocious, timely hitting was non existent. Fielding defense was excellent.

It was a strange year. Certainly the talent was there but the season was just poor all the way around. I will lay equal responsibility on the coaching staff and the players. Blame is not an appropriate word because I know all of them were giving great effort. Plus as defending champions we were getting everybody’s best shot (which is to be expected).

All that said, we will be fine next year. Most programs have an occasional WTF year and this one was for us this year.

This but I have no faith in Cohen.

I appreciate all Lemonis has done but we need a new direction. This season is not acceptable for a program like ours under any circumstances and we need to make it clear we will not accept it

If I was offered pre season last year "You can have a natty this season, but youll have to agree to be the worst baseball team in the SEC the following year."....i believe all of us woulda jumped on that deal.

No one expected state to repeat. But we sure as hell didn’t expect to miss the sec tourney and a regional.

Sims is gone barring a major WTF in the draft. I think he's top 3 rounds even without throwing this year. Tommy John won't scare the teams off.
