How are you feeling about the rest of the season? All of a sudden, that schedule looks even more brutal than before. Can Lane coach through it?

My 5-7 record for Missouri is looking better when losing to all of the ranked SEC teams this season.

If our running game is working, then we'll be fine. If we have to ask Sam to carry the team, we'll be in trouble.

Genuine question, no snark—why do LSU fans keep referencing Kirby and Saban’s first year records? What makes you think either of those situations are comparable to Kiffin’s, or that he’s on the same coaching tier as them?

Because its the best possible scenario going by the best coaches in the conference.
So if Kiffin is at least tracking the best coaches to ever do it, then its not worth panicking about yet.

DeBoer is probably a better comparison, he went 9-4.

Because both took over big time programs and went through growing pains and turned out ok. What's so hard to understand?

Which tracks with Vegas opening at 8.5 wins. Hopium definitely took over building up to the season and a one score loss doesn't derail that but we need to see better play on the field.

I am not concerned. Ole Miss is very good.

genuine question, no snark...did LSU losing a game that, quite literally, came down to one pass in the endzone from the 6 yard line against a top 10 team on the road, completely change the trajectory of the season for LSU or Lane's career at LSU?
I mean I know everyone is jerking off to the game and likes to troll, but if you're actually trying to have an intellectually honest conversation let's have one.
To the OP's question, no. The schedule looked tough coming into the season and still looks tough now. Last weekend was always a toss up and one of the harder games on the schedule. Losing that game didn't magically make the rest of the season look harder than it already was

Wait and see approach for me. We left a lot on the field against a top 10 team on the road and still had several opportunities to tie or take the lead late in the game. If we play well this Saturday and show signs of cleaning things up, I'm back to feeling like 10-2 and a playoff spot are likely. If we let Reed run all over us and/or don't see a better game from Leavitt, then I am feeling like 8-4. I think Clark can still lead us to some wins if needed but not enough to make the playoffs.

Well.........they BOTH were at LSU for their FIRST NC and as the song goes...the first cut is the deepest!
Now back to your question and statement...the answer to both is...we don't know the answer....YET!!!!
