dude was overhyped. He pretty fast, but not a blazer, he doesn't have good hands, he lacks confidence, and he can't break tackles.
he couldnt cut it at QB and doesn't have the hands to be a WR in our offense. He would've been better off in a wide open offense playing HB and slot WR that could give him the opportunity for 10 or so touches a game. He's just not going to get that many chances in our offense and he's not consistent enough for us to keep feeding it to him.

cant throw
cant catch consistently
cant break ankles
cant break tackles
has above average speed but not elite.

Never developed into a WR with good hands.
He was underutilized by this offense, but the opportunities he did have, he usually didn't take advantage of them. He was also crazy fast his freshman year and lost a step as he added size.
My opinion.

It's hard to expect him to be a successful WR when he played QB his whole career before here. He's an excellent athlete but that doesn't always translate to success. I always thought he was best running out of the backfield or gadget/sweep plays. But just throwing out there at WR, I didn't think Ed ever really become a star.

Blake Sims for Alabama reminds me of RS. Not the same hype coming out of highschool, but a phenomenal athlete without any true position.

5'10 180 lbs. Doesn't have a position on offense.
ETA: No position especially because he can't catch.

I just saw an article that lists him as a senior and wondered why he never got going. Just curious as UF has had plenty of superstars that never reached their potential for one reason or another. I always thought RS would be a dynamic player.
There is little room in our system for an offensive skill player who can do a little of everything fairly well, but nothing outstanding. His hands were suspect to begin with, and once he moved to wideout - that was pretty much it. He's still an exciting player at times, but just a combination of things. He would likely have done better served going to a spread offense and running the wildcat, but hindsight is 20/20. I'm glad to have him as a leader, a recruiter and an ambassador for the program, but, at the end of the day, a lot of talent was left untapped and on the table.

Same reason Debose didn't.
I thought he was injured his Fr season and now has attitude issues.
I don't think RS has missed games due to injuries and his attitude has been upbeat.
He needs to be in an O that plays a faster pace and since '08 that ain't us.

I kind of see parallels to Blake Sims. Guys who are very athletic but never found a position and were passed up by others who developed at one spot. I'm sure they worked hard and were being team players, but they were given a bit of a handicap because of limited experience and having to learn new positions.

never underestimate how much those 5 golden stars next to a players name means to some fans.

he went to the coaches and said he wanted to play wr in 09. that set him back. we were still throwing it a lot back then.
in 10, we switched to more of a run first offense and a lot of zone read with jj. lookin back, he wouldve been perfect for that offense but it was too late.

Did Les ever let him throw a pass in a game?

offensive playcalling IMO
Career: 92 carries - 661 yards = 7.2 ypcarry
2012 : 8 carries - 106 yards = 13.3
Career: 58 catches - 570 yards = 9.8 ypcatch
2012 : 6 catches - 92 yards = 15.3
So, yards per touch:
Career: 8.2 yards (150 touches)
2012: 14.1 yards (14 touches)
They've failed to get him involved. I'd like to see him get more carries and screens this year (and throw a fricking pass).
He has been good on Spec Teams so far though
