He and Mack are the most overrated LBs we’ve had under Saban. Anyone that takes Mack first round is asking for disappointment. Moses is almost just as bad.

Moses is a good lb.

But yeah considering his hype and how he had 100 offers in the 8th grade he is overrated.

The Tide's secondary wasn't up to speed this year. Savion has not lived up to his Rivals rating. Surtain is probably going to be good but Nick should never have to start a Frosh at CB although I know he's done it before.

This defense lacks depth which is in coaching. Only thing I know is Goulding coaches LB and they were as lost in September as they are in January. Tosh got a DC job because he can recruit and Saban didn’t want to lose him but he didn’t grow as a DC either. When your defense looks the same in September and January that’s coaching plain and simple.

One of those weird cycles where Alabama's top SIX defensive backs from the year before were all gone. Throw in the injury to CB#1 Diggs first half of this year and that's how you get freshmen DBs starting in the NC game. Group was decimated by attrition and injury and the young guys weren't ready / not good enough.

They also didn’t have that collapsing pressure, especially later in the year, that they typically have. Quenan Williams (butchered) would single handedly collapse inside at times, but it didn’t help the DB’s that the edge wasn’t on the QB in 2 seconds like years past.

Bottom line this defense had a lot of holes. Combination of 15 defensive players drafted in the last two drafts, injuries to several starters, and a first year coordinator who was struggling led to possibly Bama's worst defense since 2007.

Seemed all season to not have a monster at all 3 levels of defense. As recent years. Maybe next year.

Bad coaching. Moses and Mack Wilson are probably the most athletic duo Saban has had on the inside, but Mack has regressed and Moses didn't get any better from his freshman year.

Pete Golding is looking like a shite hire honestly.

Many times Moses looked lost or uncertain of either his or his teammates assignments from what I saw.

Thanks Bama for taking savion, Tony brown, and Moses. We didn't need busts playing for us

Moses had the advantage of early physical growth. In his early high school years he was physically bigger and stronger than everyone else. But when you get to 21 or 22 years old, everyone else catches up. His skills haven't improved to keep ahead of the players around him. He's a very good athlete but he isn't an elite football player as an adult the way he was as a kid.

Most importantly Bama did not have a true leader on defense like they have had in years past. No one like Mink QBing the defense getting everyone lined up correctly.

To me that is one of the biggest issues for this year Bama team. It is understandable with all the players that were lost from last year making this a very young defense. I expect it be much better next year with a healthy Digs, more experienced Surtain and the rest of the guys have a year under their belts.. PLUS some really good new blood coming in will help with depth.

Maybe.

Or maybe those guys don't put in the effort on the practice field and the time in film study off the field as other players we've had.

I am sure they are glad with their decisions to come to Bama, beat LS8u's arse every year, win the SEC, win an NC and consistently be considered an elite team.

Yeah they are scrubs and LS8u would not have been a better team with them on the sidelines

Honestly, this guy should not be running the defense.

If I were Saban I would get rid of him.
