Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Arkansas are much better programs since 2011, which was the last time LSU was relevant. Les benefitted from a division with three programs going through some dark days and eventually finding great coaches to bring their teams back to relevancy. Combine that with the influx of money from the SEC and the conference from top to bottom has never been tougher.

LSU will always be a solid program bc they are the only sec program in a state full of talent, but the days of 10 win seasons are over.

I agree with this, up until the part about 10 win seasons being over.

the 2011 LSU team would have beaten this years Ole Miss team 52-3 once again.

The west is as strong as ever. The immense talent advantage LSU had dissipated and now their coaching staff is being exposed.

Arky, Missippi, State, are no longer auto wins.

This is all true. Which is all the more reason we need a fresh perspective at the head coaching spot, as our current coach has no adjusted his approach in the last 4-5 years one iota.

Doubt it. You can go 5-3 in the SEC and win 10 games. And if we make the right hire not only will we win 10 games, we'll win more than that.

this. LSU can still be average for their standards and go 5-3 in conference 4-0 out of conference and win a bowl game with an average coach. I do think the emergence of some real offenses in the West has been a big factor in bringing down Miles. The West is slowly turning into the Big 12.

Most of your OP is right

We need to catch up to the X's and O's coaching advantage that the rest of the west (except A&M) has over us.

SO only other schools are allowed to get a coach that better uses said talent?

Yes we were, we still have glaring holes that LSU just wasn't capable of exploiting. That 2011 team was one of the best teams in the country...just happened to share a division with the two best teams that were head and shoulders above.
