If Baker masters the art of stopping zone-reads, we have a chance.
Commanders have a better defense.

There was a pass play where the center or guard blatantly allows a defender to blitz through to get to Nuss. Someone made a .gif of it.

That is your Root Cause Analysis.
No Will Campbell and Emery Jones Jr to protect Nuss. Not to mention the interior OL was terrible this year. OC needs to build his plays around that.
Great! Can we have a competent OL with a run game to keep the defense honest and protect Nuss? IOL was bad and Nuss lost his starting tackles.

he fulfills the role mason taylor played in the offense

What's his stats against Dual Threat QBs?
All he needs is a pair of first round caliber wide receivers (Jefferson/chase) and (nabers/btj), learn to scramble for first downs, and have a defense that knows how to stop zone reads.
Give me Australian punters.
The simple answer is that Nuss is not a run threat so defenses will continue to crash every single time. Sloan calls Zone Reads with the wrong personnel. Nuss actually sells the Zone Read but defenses never bite on it.

It’s the same playbook they used for JD5 with an immobile QB. The QB roll-out to dump it to Mason to the flats or QB keep is a JD5 play.

Nuss is not a top 4 QB (Mel Kiper mock draft)

Play to make themselves look good for the portal

Who tf calls play-action pass on third and long? Defense knows you’re passing it. Linebackers didn’t even flow with the RB they dropped back into coverage.
Vanderbilt did more with less against Alabama. It's the coaches. And the fact that you had 2 weeks to prepare for a wildcat zone read offense and you still can't stop it shows its the coaches.

If UF runs a zone-read offense, UF wins.
What's his excuse for being ready for a simple zone-read offense?

He didn't regress. His padded stats from trash teams made him look good. He's just not built for the SEC.
