Mark Richt?

Not sure why the lights have gone out in Georgia, but I think he's still solid.

I'll take Saban. Hey, it's a wish list.

I would throw in a vote for 2 other Pac-10 coaches.

1. Chip Kelly - Oregon
2. Mike Riley - Oregon St.

Two very good coaches. Don't think we could get Kelly to leave Oregon but Riley would definitely leave OSU for LSU.

I do not want this SOB nowhere near LSU he is nothing but a thud!

My number 1 is Mike Riley from Oregon St. all the Bama fans ought to know him well!

I disagree. Some rantards would be much worse coaches than we can even imagine.

LSU Coaching Wish List
Harbaugh and Gruden are about the only two guys I could see being available and would also take the job. I know people don't think Gruden would coach at the college level, but he is the kind of guy that wants total control. Something that most NFL teams don't offer any more.

It's not that he wouldn't coach at the college level, it's just that he wouldn't coach at LSU. Call me a homer or whatever, but I think if he ever decides to coach in the SEC, it will be at Tennessee.

Yes he is. He's coached in about 4 games that actually matter, and about 2 games that mattered where the other team gave a shite.

I think Mike Riley would love to come back to the SEC especially with no chance to go back to Bama with Saban there. What would the Bama fans say baout that?

FWIW I have it from two different sources that know Del Rio personally that if he were looking for a job an LSU offered he would take it in a heart beat.

Patterson's the best coach on the list and would make LSU a monster again.

Why Del Rio...
- played in the NFL (pro bowl & super bowl champ)
- head coach in NFL (at least 8 years)
- usually has strong defensive teams
- supposedly has interest in LSU
- all 18 year old recruits want to hear is how they can get to the NFL...he can tell/show them how.

That's why I like him

I would consider him the safest hire. However, I could see Gruden being absolutely dominant in college.

Meh, yelling doesn't make you an elite head coach. Not a fan of taking a coordinator with no head coaching experience

Nebraska disagrees with this theory...

sounds like Charlie Weiss

Unless a guy has significant experience in college I'm worried he won't know how to run a college program - which is significant parts coaching and play development... but also babysitting and recruiting

My list:

1) harbaugh
2) patterson
3) pellini
4) muschamp
5) chris peterson
