I’d take another Les Miles type hire in a second. Terrific success in those years.

Urban Meyer… great call. Forgot Utah was Mountain West back then. I stand corrected.

Is there a HC that jumped from a nonpower conference team (group of 5) and won a national championship with the new team? I don’t think so. At least not since the BCS era. Tressel did it from I-AA. Also, I’d argue that Napier’s resume was better than Golesh’s. See where that got Fla.
A Camden, NJ native. Impressive resume. Bio says he was the Philadelphia Eagle’s Catholic Chaplain from 2001-2003!!!
I genuinely appreciate your thought out arguments Mr. Vader.
God bless.

Options?
Wait. We knew through talks with Russia in 1944 and early 1945 that they would declare war on Japan after Germany was finished. Sure enough, Russia declared war on Japan in early August and invaded Manchuria. In a few weeks the puppet Japanese regime was done. Japan would have shortly been in a vise… Russia on their west. U.S. on their east.
I’m certainly no expert. And good people will disagree on this matter. I’m just giving thought to the use of nuclear weapons, war, and civilian vs enemy casualties. Peace.

It’s really not that difficult. We incinerated approximately 200,000 civilians. The morality of that can and should be debated.

Hindsight cannot be allowed to factor in when judging decisions made at that time.

This simply is not true. Sure we can judge historical decisions. Is this meant to stifle debate?
Not all war is inherently evil. There is such thing as just war.
Should we commit an evil act to prevent a greater evil?

I also wonder if we would do the same today. That is, drop nuclear bombs on enemy cities to bring a war to an end.
I agree, countless lives were saved by dropping the two bombs. But we intentionally destroyed 200,000 men, women, and children. This was tragic. We did not target soldiers or military installations. We targeted cities. I believe it was immoral, even if we did so to try and end the war.
Casualty estimates vary significantly. Between 110,000 and 210,000 dead by the end of 1945 from the two bombs. There were also long-term effects like increased rates of leukemia and other cancers among survivors. The vast majority of casualties were civilians, not soldiers. Let’s not be so callous. It was a great tragedy. Pray that it never happens again ??
LSU has become more selective. They have never been in higher demand. The brand is popular nationwide. They expected > 50k freshman applications for the 2025-26 school year.
Learned this while attending my daughter’s orientation. LSU staff said demand for all SEC state schools is on the rise.
Work with scientists in multiple state agencies. Always found them to be hard working and passionate about their field of expertise.

Team Arrival?

Anyone know when the team arrives back home?
This is what bothers you on a beautiful spring day before the start of the BR regional?
I’d suggest mid-30s to mid-50s…
If you married well, worked hard and stayed in decent shape.
Your family is growing and growing up. You’re coaching ball, loving outdoors recreation, volunteering at church. You’re being promoted at work and you’re super valuable to your employer. Hopefully you can afford a nice vacation every year.
