The fans with unrealistic expectations wanting LSU to be like Bama and Saban are the problem. Temper your expectations. You are not a Bama level program and never have been

Honestly who has been Bama level recently? 4 National Championship game appearances by LSU in 20 years isnt to shabby though. If we get the right coach in then i expect to get back to the playoffs fairly quickly given the resources LSU has available.

I'm a Bama fan. But this is stupid. LSU is one of what people call " The Big 6" SEC programs for a reason. They get the right guy they ll win like Saban did and was on track to doing there.

They won a freaking national championship with two doofus head coaches. Logic tells you if they could pull that off, a good coach would win several and be in the hunt consistently.

Talent rich HS state, another one right next door, resources, fan support, facilities and finally good administration. It's about as good of a job as it gets.

Arkansas fans shouldn't really be saying much..your ceiling is LSUs floor . So...

No one is Bama. LSU leveled up during the Saban tenure. They went from a good-not-great football program with 1 claimed NC 40+ years prior, to the only school (outside of Bama) with 3 titles this century. Whatever they were, they are not that any more.

What they are lacking is consistency, because, while the program is sort of a monster with its recruiting base, facilities and fan base, the coaching has been hit and miss. The fans and admin want to get away from the boom/bust cycle and move to a more consistent winner. A down year should be 9-3, not 5-5 or whatever the hell this year is going to be. 10 regular season wins is expected with all the built-in advantages. 11-1 should be considered a very good season. 12-0 should not be expected (as long as Saban is Sabaning), but it should not be shocking either.
