Even though you are a dick (on here at least), I can't argue with this.

Athletic department is in great financial shape. For the purposes of this forum, that's all that really matters. And LSU athletics will continue to be fine financially now that they have a competent and politically connected athletic director.

As an alum, I would like to see academic side in better shape, but the state of Louisiana and the people who run LSU need to decide they want better. Their fundraising efforts are failing because people don't trust they'll spend it in the right place. Less lazy rivers, less new student unions, less shiny new buildings and more preventive maintenance of existing structures.

LSU has an 800M + endowment, which is for research. I would think a usable Library would be a useful tool?

If it hasn't already been mentioned here goes. It is scheduled for demolition.

This person with the GoFundMe might be scamming those gullible enough to donate.

"The football program basically funds the university by itself"

lmao, the NET REVENUE for LSU football was only $9M! $8M of that went to help fund other sports.

LSU football contributed $1M to the general fund, which literally pays for toilet paper lol.

I may be stepping in it here but are any of the SEC athletic departments giving some of the annual SEC windfall to the academic enterprise of their institutions?

You say that and yet this 1/31/19 article states that the football team’s net revenue for 2017/2018 was $55 million. LSU 2017-2018 financial figures

I know State was back during Sherrill’s era. I assume they continued but was probably peanuts during the Crxxms era.

ETA. Let me restate that. I know the Bulldog Club was sending some money back to the university for scholarships and minor things.

Maybe they shouldn’t have built a lazy river and could have fixed their libraries.

I won’t what the donations from alumni look like TAF vs the university.

They proved with the way they fired everyone BUT the responsible guy in the will wade situation that they are gunning and couldn't care less about the repercussions. I know it was private donations but still looks bad to have sleeping pods or whatever when the school is broke.
This AD is a loose cannon who is going to end up doing more harm than good. He's thumbing his nose at everyone and that shite comes back to bite u in the arse.
