Tigers have a 37-26-1 advantage overall.
LSU won 15 of the first 19 games (15-3-1) ever played against the Gamecocks in a series born with the 1992 SEC expansion. Carolina put together a 17-7 run against the Tigers over the next 24 games that included sweeps at the old Box in back-to-back seasons. LSU has answered winning 15 of the most recent 21 games, 5 of the last 6.
Tigers own a 17-10 record in Columbia, while the Gamecocks have played to a near draw in Baton Rouge at 12-14-1.
LSU has shut out USC 3 times, Carolina has returned the favor twice over the Tigers.
Carolina is 6-2 vs LSU in 1-run games that end after 9 innings. the Tigers are 5-0 vs the Gamecocks in 1-run games that play into extra-innings. LSU has a 3-1 advantage in shortened 7-inning games. the lone tie in the series occurred in a 10-inning Sunday game in Baton Rouge.
LSU owns Carolina in Hoover winning 4 of 6 games, including an 11-0 mercy rule win to completely embarrass USC and end its 2017 season. that game was the last Chad Holbrook would coach in Columbia
Carolina, in turn, has never lost to LSU in Omaha sending the Tigers home in both 2003 & 2004.

2018 - Tigers 24-14 (9-6) at Gamecocks 20-17 (6-9)
LSU has played two ranked opponents (both on the road) through 5 SEC weekends. Gamecocks have played #1, at #19, at #9, and at #3 in its 5 conference weekends.
LSU's SEC road record is 2-4, winning 1 of 3 at #12 Vanderbilt and 1 of 3 at #14 Texas AM. Carolina is 4-2 at home in league games, sweeping hapless Tennessee again (USC 28-4 vs UTK over last 32) and taking 1 of 3 from #1 Florida.
both schools dropped games to in-state opponents mid week leading up this weekend series.

2 of the most miserable baseball games I have ever watched.

I wish I could be excited about this series as I once was in the past

I'm preparing myself for a veritable treasure trove of embarrassment in this series. Thanks Chad Holbrook. You miserable asshat.

I love LSU now

Chad is 27-11 (9-3), is 6-3 vs group 1, and an RPI of 41. What makes it more impressive is the CoC only won 28 games all year long last year.

yeah - I hear ya. this team overall has shown zero interest in playing up to the program's pedigree regardless of the talent. there are a few players who have a bit of self-pride, but collectively it's bad.
I fear CG may be right about some more embarrassing moments as an extension of the 11-0 arse-cuttin Holbrook brought us in Hoover last May.

Chad is
the College was a complete shite-show last year internally and had nowhere to go but up. you come back here and brag on Chad in 3 seasons after he has time to ruin Monte's recruits/efforts.

Well, they could have just stayed the same, but they have skyrocketed from terrible to a low 2/high 3 seed. It's 99% due to Chad's magic touch.

And Chad and his "magic touch" are 100% responsible for the shitshow we've become.

I’m sorry. I’ll stop now. I remember what it’s like to have a truly bad baseball team. It was 2006 and RC’s first year.

Unsure how I feel about us for this series

LSU has a bunch of injuries and struggles on the road. I'd be happy winning two of three, but I hesitate to think that will happen.

Are you Summer Of George's doppelganger by chance? Very nice work and info.
