I guess I would rate them like this from lowest to highest crime rate.
1. Oxford
At least Ole Miss can celebrate something.

Is there a correlation between crime rate, and Defensive standings?

Never mind.

Crime in Fort Sanders is rampant. Students get mugged, assaulted, cars and are houses broken into, homeless people literally everywhere.
I also think it's the most densely populated neighborhood/area/square couple of miles, whatever you want to call it, in the entire state of tennessee, so all the crime shouldn't be totally unexpected.

This actually wouldn't be a bad thread if you'd researched the crime rates in each city and posted them.

Fayetteville probably isn't as low crime as it was 10 years ago. Its still pretty safe, though.
I blame Springdale.

Baton Rouge is def the worst, getting up there as the worst in the country per capita
Posted on 3/15/12 at 2:02 pm to ShakeyTurtle
Baton Rouge, Columbia (SC), Knoxville and Nashville are definitely on their own level in terms of crime.
Baton Rouge isn't the worst in either violent crimes per capita or total crimes per capita, but they might be tops in per capita murders.

Gainesville was ranked as the 5th meanest city in the USA by the National Coalition for the Homeless twice in a row, in 2004 for its criminalization of homelessness and in 2009 for its ordinance restricting soup kitchens to 130-meals a day.

I'm pretty sure the per capita crime rate in the fort isn't that high, it's just that every crime or attempted crime is sent to every student at UT.
