"First, West Virginia-Louisville Nov. 2 shattered the network's 11-year-old record for a Florida State-Virginia matchup with a 5.3 rating that translated to 4.91 million households tuned in. Then, a week later, Louisville-Rutgers captured a 5.0 ranking and 4.62 million households.
And a SEC regular season game on a saturday in 2011 did 11.5 in the ratings. Maybe math is not your best subject but that is more than both of your thursday nigh games combined. There is a reason the SEC media deals are so valuable and the Big East media deals were not. A whole lot more folks watch the SEC. I am sorry if you are not bright enough to understand this but the folks at CBS, Disney (ESPN), NBC, and FOX sure do. If it helps think of this simple math equation.
SEC $$ > ACC $$ > Big East $$
I laugh at you because it appears that you do not understand business very well to think you are winning this argument.

Well lets see here. I traveled to New Orleans for the Sugar Bowl and blew a couple thousand on that trip. I then went to New York to watch us run through the #1 conference in America on our way to back to back Big East titles. Another couple grand. Then proceeded to travel to all but ONE of our NCAA tournament games. Guess what...yet again...another couple grand. You know what? I'm freakin broke! When your a tri sport super power like us it gets pretty expensive, you know what I mean? Oh wait silly me. You're a Navy fan. You have no clue what the hell I'm talking about.
I walked 5,000 miles in the snow, uphill both ways, to see Alabama play in the BCSNCG and I didn't even go in

Wildcat Mike, go to the Robert Morris message board. You have no leg to stand on. Wait, do they even have a message board? Rest easy basketball season will be here before you know it.

I'm not reading all this shite but I'll throw my two cents in.
No, the SEC did not miss out on Louisville, I don't care if they win the NC in baseball and football next year to complete the trifecta.
Louisville is not the state flagship institution. Louisville is not a top TV market. Louisville is not a mecca for anything that is attractive to 17-18 year old kids. It isn't located in a hotbed for recruiting in really any sport save maybe basketball due to its centralized location and the nature of basketball recruiting (and in that case will always compete with its in-state rival).
Louisville is having success in spite of all of these things which tells you one thing: they have a great athletic director who's connected on recent hires. I'll also add the fact that they have benefited in football from playing a weak schedule.
Obviously they've gone all in on facilities and committing to their athletic departments, but they are surrounded by programs who've been doing that much longer than they have.
Coaches come and go. As do AD's. The things I mentioned above that work against Louisville will rear their ugly heads once those people are gone.
I like seeing programs like Louisville have success, but they just aren't SEC material when looking at the criteria for expanding.

All I want to know is how you're "offline" but still posting every 7 or so minutes. For me, it doesn't even say I'm offline until 30 minutes after I sign out

Don't need a link ask any Tide or Tiger fan on here if they think that is a correct number. Hell you can probably ask any SEC rant person if that number is correct because I am pretty sure they were watching the game.

Mohican, you're certainly entitled to your opinion, but I have bad news. Louisville AD Tom Jurich has been here for 15 years. He has been courted by the best of the best including Indiana, Tennessee, Florida State, just to name a few...and turned all of them away. He has signed a lifelong contract and will retire here. I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you.

Just as I suspected, like that particular $EC match up is the norm. Two of the most rabid fan bases in America who happen to be ranked #1 and #2 in the nation on CBS...not ESPN regional coverage. Uh read down a couple sentences and youll see the same matchup dew a measly 4.4 the previous season. Jesus, this is too easy.
