Players? That’s the difference in Americans.

Well, he’s gonna get canceled. He hurt a lot of feeling with that one. Angry parents probably reaching out to ask him for an apology for their kids as we speak.

Yep. This country was "founded" by some pretty fair, upstanding people. The descendants are even more upstanding human beings.

Need and Abundance produce opposite results.

Crazy the HS seniors make more money than people who actually change lives, researchers and leading edge doctors who cure major diseases. Life is so unfair.

Our priorities cause this.

For what it's worth, despite his obvious ND and Carolina homerism and a lot of, probably well-earned criticisms, Holtz can be wise on many things. I encourage everyone to listen to his silver spoon speech. The gist is he was born in poverty but still believes he grew up with a silver spoon because of the work ethic he was taught as well as a bunch of other qualities he received in life. Has plenty of comedy bits.

They can still just go for the players that are about obligations and responsibilities. If players want to ask for money or not play thats fine too. The Unis were taking advantage of some and everything is just above board now.

Gen Z was blessed. They get to be treated like kids forever. Their 80 year old parents are gonna yell at us when their Gen Z kids are in their 40’s still larping as Peter Pan in Nevereverland.
I say this bc it cracks me up that the media invented the word “adulting”, and categorized it as a struggle affecting young Americans out of college not ready for a mean world.

Another thing that's different from 50 years ago. You're free to admit that with very little chance of any real negative impact. Good for you.

I believe the Holtz quote has some age on it. I have heard it before and it’s definitely pre-NIL.
This is my biggest gripe. There’s nothing stopping schools from signing service academy types that are well-rounded. But money and winning are more important, so they sign a lot of morons of questionable character because they have freak ability.
The fans and programs are every bit as fricking greedy and entitled as they believe the players are.

It is an older quote. It just seems to hit home a little more to me now that I don't follow everything near as much as I used to because of all this nonsense. It's also the offseason, so here we are.
