I took this on the Buffalo a couple years ago. I love mornings on that river.

Do like your state park system.
It's a good one. The mountain biking is actually legit these days.

Visited a number of state parks every time my wife and I would visit our son. There are a lot of them, all of them free, and very well done, imo.

I typically rent a place in Gilbert pretty close to the river. We wake up with dew on everything left outside.
Not sure why the Ozarks rivers fog up so heavy like that, but the White does it too.

Anyone ever heard of Gray Rock on the Buffalo River.

Gray Rock ? Yeah preceded by Hell's Half Acre ,
or Bucking Shoals. Don't think Gray Rock is
as much fun as it used to be when you could pull your canoe out below and watch day trippers tip
over. With the right water and not knowing how the
current could take you straight into Gray Rock , it was a notorious run.
Often there was a guy with a camera across from the rock , selling the video to canoeists who became up close
and personal acquaintances of Gray Rock. But flow of the river changed and Gray Rock has tamed down a bit.

I agree. I love some of the unique outdoors Louisiana has to offer but I really like NE Arkansas more personally. Part of that may be due to my preference for freshwater fishing though. I really want a cabin somewhere out there.

The guy is still standing there. Where else would he stand?

Northeast Arkansas is unique in that you have a combination of mountains and the Mississippi delta mixed.
You can drive in one area surrounded by mountains and then 30 minutes later see cotton fields the next.

Fishing in Venice and Delacroix is paradise. Our coastal and inland waters is some of the best.
