Who the hell whines and cries non-stop about cross-division scheduling and the "unfairness" of it?
We spent damn near the whole fricking offseason reading bullshite threads by LSU fans about them having to fricking play Florida every year and how "unfair" it is for LSU.
quote:TIT for TAT
Replace the "cross division scheduling" part with "HUNH" and guess who we'd be talking about?
The point I'm trying to make is that we (SECRanters) spend a whole lot of time calling rival coaches and fans whiners/cry-baby/bitchin fools.

No one forgot about Chavis. IMO he's head and shoulders above Saban right now. He deals with the HUNH the way he deals with it and doesn't bitch about it. And has a lot of success.

You think you shut down Malzahn in 2010?

Our D was the weak point of our team last year
now we have some experience
we continually defend HUNH well
now we have some experience
we continually defend HUNH well

anyone who watched the game knows they didn't shut down malzahn... 520 yards of total offense and 24 points... and i'm pretty sure we took a knee inside LSU's 15 yards line to end the game.
same goes for this year... from the 2nd quarter on, we did whatever we wanted to LSU's front seven.
I'll give him 2009 and 2011.

Look at what Derek Mason did at Stanford the past two seasons. That's equally impressive.

How did LSU fare versus 2012 Alabama, 2013 Georgia, and 2013 Alabama's power running games?

You can't count out the outlier of having Cam in 2010 though.
Chavis has the best SEC record against the HUNH and I'm fine admitting that.

LSU shut down Auburn in 2010? Auburn ran for 400 yards.

How many points did y'all win by?

Chief is actually the best at stopping it. Has a lot to do with personnel though. Small, quick linebackers vs the lineman that Saban turns into linebackers. In a 3/4 your linebackers can be big and slow because there are 4 of them. That is a killer against spread HUNH which is why Saban is getting the rule changed.

I think it's helped lsu that most of these games were very early in the season.
Usually the HUNH teams really hit their stride later in the year
LSU is good at forcing turnovers versus HUNH teams; however, I wouldn't call yielding 400-500+ yards shutting a team down even if you limited their scoring somehow.
2011 Oregon was not Chip Kelly's best offense or defense, for that matter.
Both quarterbacks had a bad day in the 2012 Texas A&M versus LSU game.
2013 Auburn hadn't hit its stride entering the LSU game.
2011 is an outlier for the LSU program, i.e. an unreasonable standard or representative for the LSU program, Les Miles' average team, Chavis' typical defense, etc.
What kind of offense does Clemson run?
Furthermore, the OOC results may be impressive, but unless Alabama played the same team, I fail to see how you can make a valid comparison or a strong argument?
We don't know how 2011 Alabama would have fared versus Oregon and West Virginia.
At worst, 2010 Alabama did an equal job to LSU defensively. LSU lost to Arkansas that year while Alabama found a way to defeat them.
I could go on and on. Chavis deserves some credit and respect, but not as much as you've requested.

qbs having a bad day can usually be attributed to the defense.

No, I don't. If I said that in the OP, then I misspoke/mistyped. We got bulldozed by a veteran OL and a transcendant offensive player that went on to win a Heisman Trophy and a National Title.

If you don't think LSU doesn't have a great D every year under Chavis idk what to tell you. The numbers/results easily prove otherwise.

They finished with only 1 or 2 losses, won their Conference and a BCS Bowl Game. Which of their teams were better? They would've played for a National Title had they not taken that game in Dallas to start the year (Props to Kelly for not backing down).

This sounds like excuses...I know because they normally sound like the auditory equivalent of watching someone reach or overextend themselves to do something they're otherwise incapable of.

LSU wins >10 games far more often than Auburn does, Lil' Lady.

Please do. It's been a busy day at work and I could use the laughter.

Not sure if serious.
44-11, 27-24, and 38-17 were signs of a great defense?
LSU allowed 22 points per game and 340.7 yards per game. Those numbers are far from being elite and aren't great.

Put some context in here. What are you talking about?
