The only people in any actual danger seem to be fans rushing the field when Alabama players are coming off.

Ok, so then you agree fans on the field is a dangerous situation. What should be done about it?

People think about Auburn when it comes to storming the court or field

Correct. It’s what Auburn does.

Kick six and what else makes post curricular fan involvement sticky to Auburn?

I can’t speak for all the other opponents but Auburn storms the field every time they beat Alabama in JH. It’s been nearly two decades since Auburn won at home and didn’t storm the field. Weird you haven’t noticed this, even the announcers talk about it all game because everyone knows it’s a “thing.” It’s no big deal, it’s simply a product of Auburn, at the institutional level, measuring their self worth relative to any perceived success against Alabama. Story as old as time.

Ah yes, the battle cry of this generation. "Control me more! Take away my liberty in the name of safety! The only things that can save us from ourselves are more and more rules passed by our benevolent leaders!" If you can point me to the mass graves of those who have been killed in horrific field-storming accidents, then maybe I could get on board, but as it is this is another incidence of being told, "Your freedom is being curtailed because someone else might misuse theirs."

Imagine the shitstorm that will ensue from donors and season ticket holders the first time they try and take away a home game because some students ran onto the field after the game was over. Once you accept that this is a problem that needs solving - which it isn't, but if you choose to believe that it is - the only legitimate answer is a physical barrier around the field to prevent people from entering it. I mean, they do it at Premier League games in England, and we all want to be like the Europeans these days, right?

Man, nine times out of ten you’re preaching my sermon here, but I think you’ve got it 100% backwards on this issue. If you could go back and poll SEC season ticket holders annually going back to its inception in 1932, and asked if fans should be allowed to storm the field and engulf the opposing team, you’d get an overwhelming response in the negative, and support for rules to prohibit that from happening. It’s always been understood that drunk opposing fans mixing with visiting teams was a dangerous situation, hence the visiting state troopers. The only reason you’re seeing this pushback now is the current trend in this country, mostly originating from younger generations, to not hold anyone accountable for anything. So I agree generational change is the cause of the current controversy around this issue, but your conclusions are wrong. The only thing that has changed is tolerance for this ritual.

HOW are you going to enforce this against a preset conference rotation schedule?

The SEC seems to be pretty motivated on getting a handle on this, I bet they figure out something pretty draconian that will act as a strong deterrent to the idiots.

CFB’s engulfed in NIL/portal flames and league leaders are worried about kids having fun???

No wonder the sport’s getting worse every year.

they’re worried about this, but the SEC won’t fix their useless officiating.

I took my son to the last SWC game we played against texas in Little Rock.

We won the game and it was loud and no one stormed the field, but the SEC chants were going on and we couldn’t leave the stadium if we wanted to because every ramp out was packed with celebrating people and folks didn’t leave until the team came back on the field, then it really got loud.

Maybe an encore is better than rushing the field.

Didn’t LSU storm the field this year?
