Right now this is looking like a best case scenario.

I went to Mizzou, and graduated from there.

I’ve been a massive fan of all the Big 8, Big 12, and now SEC schools. I’ve always rooted for OU, I was thrilled when you won the natty with Josh Heupel. My favorite OU bball player was Hollis Price..

I’ve just never spent an extended time period in Norman until now. The word that comes to mind is shocked. I thought it was going to be WAY better.

You are kidding yourself too by comparing it to COMO. Como’s downtown area is 10 times bigger than normans downtown and campus corner areas combined. Sorry, I’m not trying to be a jerk, it just objectively is. Plus, COMO has a state park within the city, tons of hiking and biking trails and is right next to MO river.

Now that everybody has NIL, I just fear kids aren’t going to want to go to OU. Again, not trying to be a jerk. Good luck in game today.

Your dumb arse thinks recruits make their decisions based upon available nightlife?

Yet another vector where Oklahoma is "Nerbrasky!"?

If we could only get "staying power status" like Georgia and Alabama....

We need the TX schools to lock the Sooners out of the state so that their Dallas game and 1x Kyle Field games are the only games they play in Tejas.

You think we need to "play in texsa" like it's still 1985, retard???

Do Ohio State and Oregon "play in texsa"?

The little Texas schools go all jihad when it comes to the Longhorns. You can 100% count on SMU, TCU, and UH to schedule Oklahoma. They would rather the Sooners win then do anything that could be construed as helping Texas.

OU will be fine. They have good NIL, and when every team goes to $20 million they'll be more than competitive long-term. It's more questionable whether they run Brent Venables out of Norman if this season goes south if the bad breaks continue their way.

The OU administration is and always has been dedicated to winning. OKC is a great town. Like you said, Norman is a suburb of OKC. But recruits don't care about night life. At least the one's you want in your program.

DFW parents can drive to watch their kids play in Norman, even Houston parents can do that trip.

That said, OU has a huge problem right now with their talent and schedule this year and next. I think they'll be mediocre for a while and won't resurrect until after Venebles has moved on.

Every big school has ups and downs. OU has had 25 straight good years with 2 back to back great hires.

They will eventually miss on one. Is it BV? Time will tell. They also were bound to miss on a QB. You just can’t rinse repeat every year on a guy in the Heisman race.

8 of the 10 teams in the 24/7 2025 recruiting rankings are SEC. If we go to 9 games it’s going to be war and I can’t wait.

You are discounting the magnitude of oil money in Oklahoma and OU alumni in Texas, and their willingness to put that money toward the football team. They don’t put up with mediocrity for long.

OU is basically another Texas university as far as its alumni, recruiting and a large percentage of the current students there.

OU didn’t play any Texas schools besides Texas for decades. It’s too close to Dallas for that to even matter.

It's like they don't know national television is a thing.
