But if Tennessee gets past LSU in Death Valley, the TSIO will be the biggest one that will have EVER been played. Both teams top 5 for the first time ever. Certainly not Alabama's most important game ever but certainly the biggest regular season football game in Tennessee history, and certainly the most important one in Neyland.
It's a tall order to win in Death Valley, though. I haven't watched much of LSU but considering their results and how well FSU is playing, I'm kind of shocked that neither team is ranked, but that will surely change by the time the ball is kicked in Baton Rouge.

We will beat the breaks off LSU. Bookmark. Florida was our biggest test by far without Tilman. When AR is on Florida is a really good team. Hence how they beat Utah, a team that would literally dog walk LSU.

Tennessee will not get past LSU, so don’t worry about it any longer.

LSU Tenn will be top 25 vs top 10 if we beat Auburn. If y’all beat us you may get to that 4-6 range before TSIO.

Seriously the biggest regular season game ever for TN?
All that rich history and a game that is a month away would be the biggest?

If UT and UGA can remain unbeaten til Nov 5, could be #1 vs #2 with Vols at #1 and favored….

How old are you?
In the 90s, the Florida-Tennessee rivalry saw great teams play each other almost annually. Bolded are in Knoxville
1990 - #5 Tennessee vs #10 Florida
1991 - #10 Florida vs #4 Tennessee
1993 - #9 Florida vs #5 Tennessee
1995 - #9 Florida vs #5 Tennessee (UF would play in a NC matchup)
1996 - #4 Florida vs #2 Tennessee (UF would win an NC)
1997 - #2 Florida vs #6 Tennessee
1998 - #1 Florida vs #4 Tennessee
(UT would win an NC)
1999 - #4 Florida vs #2 Tennessee
2001 - #6 Tennessee vs #2 Florida
Don't be a prisoner of the moment

Nice to see someone actually talking about football on this forum.

Could be. Your defense needs to improve, similar to our offense needing to improve.

Indeed beating LSU in Tiger Stadium will basically be a rent a win for Tenn
I can’t wait to attend that game to witness a truly great team like the vols
If only LSU had any playmakers or decent coaching
Maybe one day

Those were massive games, but Florida arguably wasn't even the best program of that era, and Tennessee was in our greatest period since the Korean War. Sabans Alabama is a dynasty unlike the game has ever seen, and we're only JUST emerging from our lowest 15 year period in the modern era. Then, given the history and the stakes, you have the potential for the biggest game in Neylands history.

Why do you think if you beat Auburn you will move into the top 25? Auburn sucks and will be looking for a new coach in less than 2 weeks.

we'll be 4-1 with a 2 point loss to a good florida state team in the opener. improvement is showing weekly. didn't say top 10- said top 25.

Tennessee literally won it's only recent national championship by defeating #1 Florida in Knoxville

Damn I did not know this. I figured they’d have a few with the history.

I hope you guys can get there. I would love a relevant TSIO. However, I'm worried about Arky. We don't play well on the road, and though they lost to aTm, they were obviously the better team who let one get away. If we can get past Arky on the road, I will then have some confidence of winning the west. I think we are better than Ole Miss, State, Auburn, and LSU. I still think Arky is the second best team in the west. So before we get ahead of ourselves. We will worry about Arky and you guys worry about LSU.
