God I hope not. Kelly has a ridiculous contract with LSU but I’d assume if he’s canned, he can’t get another job. That has been LSUs approach with everyone else.

I remember in 2012 how, despite being the undefeated team and #1, Notre Dame went into the NC title game as an underdog. No one expected them to win (except Lee Corso apparently) and sure enough, they got destroyed. They were down 28-0 at the half never got closer than that.
Then all of those wins got vacated anyway, so their official record that year 0-0 (I don't think I've ever seen a LOSS vacated, but whatever).
So two undefeated teams before the post-season in college football - Ohio State and Notre Dame - one was ineligible for cheating, the other had to vacate their wins for cheating.
If they had been held ineligible, Alabama would have played Florida (who finished the BCS polls at #3) in the national title game. Then BK could play the "only if" game.

Impossible to hold them as ineligible as the academic scandal didn't come out until years later.

I know, it was just more to the point of "if it happened then instead of later".
Just a thought experiment, nothing more.

Notre Dame was the beneficiary of one of the worst blown calls in modern memory.
On their tying field goal try in the second overtime against Pitt, they had 2 players on the field both wearing #9, which should have triggered a 15-yard penalty but there was no flag and it was not a reviewable play.

I love that this is the fallback response for LSU. "We've won with shitty coaches before. Why not try to do it again". The lack of awareness on this board is why I keep coming back.
Why don’t you make us all aware of Kirby’s record against Ed O, fricktard.

3x P5 conference champ
3x ny6* wins(not including bcsncg)
1x nattie

Try Kirby record against Kelly at LSU.

all over DeBoer when he accomplished more at Washington in 2 years than Kelly has accomplished in 14 seasons at ND and LSU.
DeBoer’s taken UW to 2 playoff appearances? You’re really acting like that one Sugar Bowl against that soft arse Texas team puts DeBoer way above Kelly or something?
