Slightly surprised that CUSA rejected them.
They took a chance on some sketchy teams before solely due to TV markets. They helped fast track South Florida's ascension to FBS at a time when they had just started playing ball.

With so many teams jumping to FBS, they should just found their own conference.

Liberty is a school where people that BYU students would call prudes attend. I'm pretty sure that they have a morality squad that actually drives around off campus to look for Liberty parking passes at places where fun happens and then they discipline those students even if they weren't doing anything.
When I say places where fun happens, that includes Chili's because they serve alcohol there.
Chili's is too racy for Liberty. Let that sink in.

They have an impressive campus. Went to Lynchburg back in the spring to visit family. I had no idea they were so big

I've been to Liberty. It's not that bad.
Now if you want to see true evangelical ridiculousness, check out Pensacola Christian College. I'm not sure if is still the same, but my sister toured it while we were at the beach out of curiosity (this was like 20 years ago), and they made her wear a cardigan because her shirt was sleeveless just to go on the tour. You go to the beach on buses and have a chaperone on dates.

I know a couple who went to Liberty, went to their wedding in Lynchburg. I have trouble imagining it is that restrictive but maybe so. The people I've met from Liberty aren't exactly SEC types, but they seem much better socially and less uptight than people from smaller, more reclusive Christian schools.

I should have made myself clear - sorry. I meant that Pensacola is pretty much the same as it was the last time you had contact with them - they just have nicer buildings. PCC would be MUCH MORE conservative than Liberty

Both schools have made a TON of money through their on-line programs. Liberty states they have an enrollment over 110,000 - and I would imagine 3/4 of them, or more, are online.

Are you sure you're not talking about Bob Jones? I've heard stories about how strict they are, and it sounded just like what you described.

Liberty University is the seventh largest university in the country counting correspondence students. It is the largest christian University in the world and it is extremely well funded. The campus is beautiful and constantly expanding with new construction. Liberty is going Division 1 because the school strives for excellence in everything. They have scheduled games with Auburn and Ole Miss.

Hell, swap 'em out for the SJWs in CoMo. It would get an SEC foothold in the lucrative VA market and get rid of the BIg XII reject/B1G wannabe. Win-win.
