Lost at the Rose Bowl in the season opener by 11 points. Whoa. Is this another decline sign?
The last 3 SEC coaches to play UCLA in the Rose Bowl lost the game and never coached another season opener at their school
- 2000 Mike DuBose
- 2008 Phil Fulmer
- 2017 Kevin Sumlin
- 2021 Ed O?

I feel like a fourth name will be added to that list.
Soon.

Oh, really. You remember us penciling in the Southern Miss game as a W at the tender age of six?
Your youth is clearly showing. The 1999 Alabama Crimson Tide, despite winning the SEC and finishing in the Top 10, lost to Louisiana Tech. Very little was ever easy for Alabama during this period.

Hey, the year college football started.

You sure? That would mean they had football before 2000.

Was at the game. For a short period of time.

Was this the year of the "Pancake Posse" OL that couldn't block anyone?
Posted on 9/24/21 at 8:18 pm to SoFla Tideroller
Yes it was.
That OL was a big reason behind the hype entering 2000. They were great in 1999. Collapsed in 2000 with everything else.

So are those that think 1997-2006 Alabama was the norm.

I hate to admit it but SidewalkTiger is doing work today

Jeff Bower was a hell of a coach. USM deserves the plight they exist in ever since they ran him off.

Yep… I’m talking about Ole Miss in 1959, the year of the famous Billy Cannon Halloween run.
I was 11 years old. I remember reading about that in my Weekly Reader.

I can’t speak for the old farts, but it was the norm from 1982-2007. The anomaly was 1992.

You say this as if SidewalkTiger isn't always doing work.
