Im not sure why everybody is so shocked by this. These coaches are kinda like mercenaries, they go where ever the money is. School loyalty is and will continue to be a rarity. Its a business not personal, most all have a price

He left for another position after the season was over. Simple as that.

even you know that is a pretty disingenuous way of describing how everything went down

Texags is one of the worst things to ever happen to A&M athletics. It's almost no coincidence that, ever since Liucci took over that site (January of 1999), A&M has been nowhere close to winning a division or conference title in football.

A bit of a reach here.

TexAgs didn't hire Fran.

TexAgs didn't serve Sumlin his Rum and Cokes

TexAgs didn't give Jimbo the worst extension of all time.

This had zero to do with money.

One of the worst. Not THE worst. They have been a net negative.

I'd argue this point. Just look at the Stoops/Elko hiring situation. You telling me TexAgs didn't have a hand in that social media back lash that shunned the potential Stoops hire?

TexAgs was full of cowards demanding that Fisher get extended "NOW!!" And we need to get an interview with Jimbo to say he's not leaving us. You think that type of stuff doesn't trickle up to big donors and by proxy A&M administration?

The same cowards demanding an immediate raise and "get Jimbo to tell us he's not leaving" in 2021 are the same idiots yelling that the administration fricked up with the extension. It's hypocrisy at its finest.

No one on TexAgs signed the contract but they definitely weren't against it when it happened (they were all for it).

No.

Schloss wanted his cake and to eat it too.

He made-up his mind months ago that he was leaving and where he was going, but he had a pretty good team.

He wanted to win a natty.
He wanted to hand select the guys he wanted to take with him (players and coaches)
He wanted to retain selected guys he had recruited in the next class.
And he wanted to slip out of town without having to answer any questions before he got to Austin.

None of those things is inherently wrong. However, his sanctimonious rant and BS about how much he loved A&M (leaving his family and all) was a damn lie and berating the reporter that blew the lid on his scheme was a shite move. So frick him.

He's also the coach at tu. Frick all them.

No, but they allowed Mike McKenzie to use their site as a weapon against anyone critical of Franchione.

Agreed but LSU is the only place people receive death threats and the potential to get their arse kicked at a football game for
Merely wearing an opposing teams t shirt.

TexAgs is a cancer.

They swore there was no way Schloss was going to Texas over the weekend then pretended they knew all about it all along, after the fact.

They're clowns.

You mock A&M former students on this board as being part of a cult. There's ample evidence that the majority of the posters on that site are actually part of a cult and their "god" is a douchebag with questionable grooming standards in his late 40's.

This completely.

Had he handled that press conference with a modicum of sense and class, his hiring would be old news now.

He wasn't a "reporter", which implies an actual journalist. The guy who asked the question was just some stooge who works for Texags, a sports message board.

Does that somehow make Schloss's response better or worse?

Don't be pedantic. It doesn't matter who asked the question. And he was at least enough of a "reporter" to be present during the post-game presser and be recognized to ask a question.

Your boy lost his composure, lied, and then acted an arse. And none of that changes the fact that he is your new coach.
