Of those parks, Autozone is the best.

Vote in favor of the OP. Minus Jacksonville/Geogia and add the park in Greenville SC.

Memphis - would love to go there, awesome stadium

New Orleans - tons of hotels, easy flights, the airport is 2 miles from the stadium. Airport hotels are empty on the weekend and have shuttles

Greenville SC - hidden gem of the SEC, such a great town, close to Atlanta

I think so too. Who doesn't get tired of the same old location. Only the most die-hards I would assume would go to any city every year. Also, Memphis and NOLA have a larger population base to draw from locally. I don't know about Memphis, but there would certainly be enough LSU fans to fill a good number of seats at Zephyr Field.

The population difference between Memphis, NOLA, and Bham is minimal. All 3 metros have over 1.1 million residents and metro Memphis and NOLA are only marginally larger than metro Bham. The "Hoover is a subpar site" is the wrong angle to take for those wanting the tourney moved around. Hoover has been very successful attendance wise. The better argument is that Memphis and NOLA would be as good if not better. I still like a Memphis, NOLA, and Bham (new downtown ballpark) 3 year rotation.

Would LSU fans like the game being in Frisco? There is a swimming pool in the outfield.

I will admit, Birmingham is larger than I thought, but Memphis still has about 200k more. NOLA 100k more and about a million more when including Baton Rouge which is close by.
I'm not saying Hoover hasn't been succesful with attendance, just I think it would be better in Memphis or Metairie.

As much as I would love it to be closer to me, I really just don't see it succeeding in Metairie.

Honestly why do you believe that?

Traffic, lack of amenities around the stadium, the hotels people want to stay in are 20-30 minutes away, and far from being centrally located.

I dont know what the situation is like at any of the other ball parks, so I can't comment on them. I just don't see it going well on Airline HWY.

Traffic could certainly be an issue. The hotels downtown could do a shuttle or something, and their are other hotels nearby.
How many options would be centrally located other than Memphis and I guess Birmingham too?

I would much rather drive to Memphis or Alabama than to any city in Texas. Much better scenery and less traffic.

Of all the stadiums listed in the thread I have only been to Hoover and Zephyr. I would be ok with either Hoover or Memphis. I like Hoover because it is easy to get to with easy parking. I would prefer a stadium that is at least 10k.

He's never explained why, but LSU's CPM is quoted as saying every time this comes up at the SEC Spring meetings that the league's coaches love it where it is. Surprised, as it's not like any SEC park with its minor league dimensions. But rotating it would make it a lot more interesting, especially in those cities where league teams never play. Not even on the agenda as far as I know, with the last contract having several more yrs to run.

The stadiums have green grass, white lines, a home plate, pitching mound, 3 bases and an outfield fence. I will sit on a coke case so long as I can walk down the hill from my rv. I still vote hoover!

Park your RV up your arse. Memphis has plenty to do for tourists as well.

That's kind of rude.

There are 4 kinds of fans that go to the majority of the games. There are fans of the schools that come over for the day that they are playing, rv goers, locals and then the fans that come and stay for a day or two, staying in hotels and such. In Memphis, you lose the locals (who gives a rat's arse about college baseball in Memphis) and the rv crowd.
Thank goodness the SEC folks know something about this.

5 Places in No Particular Order

1) Autozone Park, Memphis, TN
2) Coolray Field, Gwinnett, GA
3) Pensacola Wahoos Stadium, Pensacola, FL
4) New Regions Field, Birmingham, AL
5) Champions Stadium, Disney WWOS, Orlando, FL

Autozone in Memphis is good for tourism, plus the stadium is awesome. Coolray Field is also an incredibly nice venue with probably the most parking/RV/tailgating lots of most of these venues, The Pensacola Stadium is near the beach, and nice itself, Regions Field is brand new, and next to that awesome brewery--can't argue with location either. And Champions Stadium in Disney would be great for tourism goers, and is a good sized venue for the event.

To those who said Trustmark Park--it is a decent venue, and serves as a fair home for the AA Braves, but anything in Jackson is bound to be a disaster. Besides the Bass Pro Shop adjacent to it, there is simply not enough to do, or places to stay. Plus, the venue itself is in Pearl.
