Neither team has an offense with a pulse. A good OC or offensive minded coach like a Mike Leech can figure out how to counter all that power at the line.
I remember going to HS at Ruston back in the 80's and Chick Childress was trying to figure out how to beat Neville. Neville always had bigger, stronger interior linemen and Ruston just couldn't get over the hump.
Chick eventually embraced the smaller O line concept and developed an offensive scheme that relied on his O line to be quicker. Screen passes, misdirection. It can be countered, it just takes a Leech or Dabo to come up with how to make it happen.

Correct. Y’all exposed our OL in a bad way. Pretty much the entire OL returns next year, which could be a good or bad thing, idk. But that’s clearly where the difference in at least keeping it close and getting blanked.

It was Mullen's O. Mullen wasn't calling the plays. But I say again you have to block somebody to move the football.

you scored a lot of points because State couldn't move the ball on offense, Alabama had + field position most of the game, and State's defense was on the field all day. State held Alabama to half of their average offensive output. They didn't get dominated at the LOS of defense. Arguing that is just disingenuous. State's offense, however, is more of a liability than LSU's is. So, as a result, they too were shutout.

We could at the end of the day run the ball when we had to. You were getting mashed trying to play head up til you sent everyone but Bully. State could not run it much at all.

Alabama had 142 yards on 45 carries for 3.2 ypc. In no universe is that getting mashed. After the first quarter, Alabama did absolutely nothing on offense.

What were the first quarter stats? A bit different story. Not to mention we went very vanilla when Tua went out. Personally I thought we called a pretty bad game offensively after the first quarter. 2 TE's and run it between the tackles I think was called for and would have dealt with all those exotic blitzes.

No doubt Ms St was better team. More physical as the game played on. Got fukd and fukd themselves but dominated LOS as game went on.
