There are a couple of things that really shouldn't matter that will have a huge impact on where Milroe is drafted.
First is his height. If he measures above 6-2, he's got a shot at being a top 10 pick. If he's 6-1 though, he's likely drops a round.
Anthony Richardson is not good... but he is 6'4" in addition to being fast and having a strong arm. And measureables matter much more than they should for 'qb's.
Milroe's negatives are that while his arm is strong, it's not elite like Richardson's was. His mechanics are also questioned by many scouts.
I'd guess he'll go mid second to early third rouhd. The projections I've seen have him in the second group of QB's (behind Sanders/Beck/Ewars, in a group with Ward/Gabriel/Dart/Nussemeir.
People kind of view athletic QB's as all being the same... But Milroe is thought to be 6-2, 225 with a 4.6 40 time and a good but not elite arm. Richardson was 6-4, 245 with a 4.4 40-time and an elite rated arm.
That's the difference between a top 10-15 pick and a late second/early 3rd round pick.
His comparable athletically would be Jalen Hurts who came in at 6-1, 222, 4.6 40. He went late in round 2.

How does BAMA not have a better option?

He sucks. As long as he plays LSU he will be ok though.

Alabama had a 7 point lead late in the 4th qtr against Michigan.
...it may have been embarrasing to you, but to me it was a big dissapointment.

When WWIII kicks off in a couple weeks? I'm going with straight up army, infantry to be exact.
Lol, I'm not one of the people who constantly shits on Milroe simply because he isn't the most accurate QB to ever sling the rock. Unless he simply has a monster season with ridiculous numbers, I really don't want to guess where he will be drafted. I'm going to say later than 3rd round at this point.

I would love to make a friendly wager on that. You game? If he is drafted before the 3rd round I win. Drafted 3rd round or later you win. You game?

Milroe’s def faster than 4.6. Not sure if ppl are just guessing, but the only 40 time people have is his 4.64 out of HS.
His acceleration is elite. Based on his film and the fact that he regularly outruns the vast majority of defenders’ angles, I’d be surprised if his official time is above a 4.5

The problem with Milroe going in the 1st rd is how many teams are going to be needing a QB in 2025? NYG, LV and maybe Seattle? There were 6 in the first this year. He might have a breakout season and surprise everyone. He will need to take one of the 3 maybe 4 QB spots in the 1st to do it.

quote:His brain isn't elite and that won't be fixed at this point. He may be fast but he can't use it most the time because he can't figure out WHEN to run. Thats most why he took a record setting sacks last year. Honestly he still looks like he's still at a freshman learning curve mentally. Simpson's better than Milroe now but Deboer is too scared to come in his first year and sit a starter people have convinced themselves is a good QB.
His acceleration is elite.

While I would argue several have pointed out AR wasn’t exactly wowing anyone with his decision making but still got drafted high, I’m not stating I think Milroe will get drafted in any particular round. Whether or not you think he deserves to go in Rd 1, if a team thinks they can work with his measurables they’ll absolutely take him
It’s been one game but he’s demonstrated improved decision making (not elite but better than last season) compared to this point last season. You can feel free to disagree, but you’ve made it known across multiple threads you’re a staunch Milroe hater so you come across as someone that just really wants to be right.
That being said, my only point was he’s faster than 4.6
