Now with Caitlin Clark moving on to the WMBA and Big 3, or whatever she decides to do, women's basketball will go back to irrelevance. Most years, I don't even know who wins it all. The only reason I knew this year and last year was because of Caitlin Clark.

But, maybe the ratings will be a little higher when Mulkey and Staley face each other. Their thug squads will always be up for a fist fight/pulling hair.

Likely back to irrelevance. This spike in interest from Clark and her rivals will leave a wake that could be capitalized on with the right player or two and the right kind of drama, so there is a small chance to make the interest fade instead of crash over a year or two, but ultimately, without another clear generational player like Clark it’s back to normal.

NCAA WBB will be fine because the sport is big and the WNBA is garbage. Agree the last couple years are a fluke and the sport may be in a very slight long-term decline even, but they’re still in much better shape than baseball.

People that are proclaiming that the women's basketball is now super popular are going to be crushed when viewership takes a huge drop next year.

Clark was the reason people watched the last 3 games. I agree that with her gone the interest will go way down.

The only thing that made the woman's game interesting (given that they play below the rim) was a girl bombing 3s from insane distances. Take that away and it is like watching a Jr High School boys game....kinda sloppy, no dunks, players out of control.

The people who are proclaiming this is a turning point are wrong. We just witnessed a peak in popularity not a turning point.

Nope. LSU & Caitlin was the reason people were watching.

I hope people realize that Clark was a modern day Jackie Robinson except she was actually much more dominant than Robinson.

In the face of insurmountable racism from the media and her opponents she didn't just dominate. She became the greatest woman's player of all time.

Truly historical

What’s sad is that she’ll make more money in college with her NIL deal than whatever shitty WNBA contract she gets signed to.

More likely than not she’ll be looking at a coaching career if she seriously wants to make a living out of it.

Sorry but you're wrong. Will women's basketball be as large as it was this season.. Doubtful. But it won't be irrelevant as you claim since women's cbb has always done well. They've just never had multiple huge stars at the same time and multiple teams who could've won it all.

Fans of school will always support wbb as long as it does well. That support dies when they leave college.

NCCAW will always be fine because of college fanbases. WNBA will always be a joke.

Yep built in support automatically.

This clown most didn't realize Tennessee, UConn, Rutgers, UNC, NC State, Stanford, USC, Louisiana Tech etc were dominating and selling out arenas way back in the 90s.
