Your history book must not cover 2004.

Then they go on to have the best record vs. Saban of any SEC school despite hiring a string of dipshits at HC.

Too bad a smooth-brained hick like you doesn’t think we’re real fans… might need to wear a pin that says, “this doesn’t affect my life like the Walmart fans” instead of “Beat Auburn.”

Having major surgery has put a damper on going anywhere, although I have been to more Iron Bowls than you have been alive. And a true serious Alabama fan knows who our rival are….that is tradition. LSU? Not a rival. A tough game usually, however doesn’t fit the definition of rival. Takes more than a decade to develop a true rivalry.

No but War Eagles sounds so much cooler and different.
I agree.
We should change our name to Auburn Eagles…call Notre Dame and then move to the ACC. Auburn’s new rivals would be Duke, UNC, and Wake Forest. Auburn - Basketball school

The fact that it's such a redneck school located in a small city in Alabama with cow pastures everywhere, yet people who go there act like they're attending a prestigious university or something.
Academically, AU > UAT, it’s not even close.

This is truer than people here are going to understand. This is something that can only be felt if you live in Alabama. And it has to be a university culture thing because it makes no sense that they feel so morally superior all the time, but they fking do.
Well said. When Auburn fans get together as a fanbase the faux moral arrogance can get annoying. The air of moral superiority is especially strong among a large % of the middle age (mid 40s) and older part of the fanbase. The "Auburn family" the "Alabama fans love Alabama football, Auburn fans love Auburn". Then there's the whole cultish trope about the "Auburn spirit" described by many Auburn people as some sort of near religious experience that overcomes all students, alumni, and non-casual fans that spend any appreciable time on campus. It's easy at first to confuse this attitude as tongue in cheek trolling on the part of Auburn fans until you realize many of them are actually being serious about it. David Housel's infamous and embarrassingly weird pregame Iron Bowl game commentary in the early 2000s being one of the best examples.
Having said all that, on a strictly personal level many if not the majority of my closest friends are Auburn grads. As annoying as they can be when they get together in large numbers together, I have to admit that on a personal one on one level Auburn grads by and large are some of friendliest, most down to earth, solid people you'll find anywhere.

Auburn fans don't think like that. We just think you're all fat and ugly and don't want to be associated with you.

The Creed..their hypocritical oath it's biblical to them. They languish and toil in the shadows of greatness never attaining for Which they want. Because they covet others accomplishments for they just come up short earning them.
It has to be hell being an Auburn fan. Because no matter how hard they invest it's just never good enough.

Meh. That's mostly limited to the rather large (no pun intended) sidewalk contingent of the Bama fanbase. No argument there. The Alabama alumni faction of the fanbase looks down their noses at the Alabama sidewalk faction or "Bammers" as much if not more than Auburn fans do.
None of this is to say that Alabama fans aren't extremely arrogant and entitled because we are. We just tend to be that way about football and don't otherwise take ourselves too seriously when it comes to our respective association with the school itself thinking any association any of us have with the University of Alabama as fans or alumni confers on us any special or mystical sense of righteousness or morality the way a lot of Auburn fans seem to think their association with Auburn University does.
