MIZZOU had some pretty good teams in the 60's and 70's and early 80's, but went down hill from there.
MIZZOU by state law cannot spend any tax money on any sports program. All monies came from donation or game attendance. We were the only team in the old big 8 and big 12 that had these contraints. The Big8 now 12 shared very little money. Texas came in and basically took over. So hence it was hard to compete under these funding issues.
But, now since we are getting a fair share I look for MIZZOU to compete year in and year out. Sometime will be good sometimes mediocre and I am sure sometimes we'll suck. But, it will be because of bad coaching and recruiting, not because we are getting out spent.
Just wanted to explain a little on why we sucked so bad in the past. There were other issues also, but funding was a large part. Thanks for reading...

I have one question for you: Do we fit in with these southern teams or not?
I mean historically of course.

I like yall. A lot. But in this league you are going to get outspent if you don't spend more than what the SEC gives you.
The goal for Mizzou should be to increase state pride and ties and make every Missouri person a sidewalk Mizzou fan. That is how you get ahead in the game with merchandizing money and maybe a booster that is not an alumni.
Baseball is dying as a mainstream activity and the Rams suck. Time to grab that brass ring Mizzou and take over your state.

On the front page yes, in the middle not yet. Its going to take a few years. I do miss playing Kansas in FB and BB. But they are crying the blues.

Pinkel: You won this weekend. Calm down. Use the bye week to get ready for Georgia.

Don''t be calling me a Yankee....you need to look at a map and read a history book. I will grant you that we are in fact North of you in geography.
The term "Yankee"...
Within the United States, it usually refers to people from the north, largely those who fought for the regions in the Union side of the American Civil War, but also those with New England cultural ties, such as descendants from colonial New England settlers, wherever they live. Its sense is more cultural than geographic. Within Southern American English, "Yankee" refers to Northerners.

I read up on Mizzou a lot back in 2012. Some of the books even mentioned how Mizzou would turn away athletes because of academics, then those athletes would enroll at Nebraska and Oklahoma. Mizzou didn't lower their academic standards for athletes. If they took the OU and NU route they'd probably have a few national titles in football by now. You have to respect that. Still doing it today in terms of APR.

You can really spot the truly new posters who came over from their own homer sites.

I remember Roger Werhel (sp) from Mizzou in the 1960s and he played For St Louis in the NFL a long time as memory serves me. Spuurier and the Gators lost to Mizzou in 1965 Sugar Bowl 20-18 after being down 20-0 we scored three straight TDs with Spurrier catching on fire...but we went for 2 point conversions each TD and if we had of kicked xtra point instead....we would have won 21-20....btw Spurrier is the ONLY winner of the MVP award in Sugar Bowl history to win from a losing team.
Back to Mizzou...to me...y'all a bunch of Jesse James back shooters
