By any practical reason, probably not. People can cry P5 bias all the want, but any G5 looks good when they rise above dogshit-level and their schedule is nothing but cupcakes.

Cincinnati played a softer schedule and were more rested than Bama and still lost by 3 tds.

G5's and Independents aka Notre SHAME have proven they do not belong in the playoff and their "Resumes" aren't worth a shite.
It's such a waste of a spot and honestly a slap in the face to teams that are in a power 5 that play tough schedules (that they get to hand pick like ND) and come out with 1 or 2 close losses, most of the time on the road.
In the future, the committee should tell these teams to join a power 5 and win their conference or STFU. Nobody wants you in a power 5? Well we don't want you in the playoff. Best of luck to you.

They played really hard. The difference for these G5 schools is they will lose a lot of their super seniors and will return to their norm over the next 2 years.
