I think the SEC should strive for the overall best system, which this isnt. And one again, schedules do matter. Fact

But LSU is the only SEC team that is given a tough schedule.

As for the Bama fans bitching about 2010, why is it that everytime scheduling comes up you whine about 2010? Saban moaned and complained and got a rule in place about that schedule. How is that any different?

Honest answer - it is hypocritical to talk about LSU fans bitching about schedules if you are one of the Bama fans who bitched about 2010 (and I am).

The solution, unfortunately, was easier for our case. Re-arranging bye dates was easier than making conference schedules balanced. As Bama fans often observe, the historical #2 team in the SEC is our permanent opponent, and they have been pathetic the last several years. The one place I do agree is that we need to take some sort of more deliberate action to make the schedules balanced.

Then why did Auburn win with the hardest SEC schedule and LSU didn't with the easiest? I mean its fact that its a factor, so surely it came into play

Some LSU fans, not all, seem to consider it a "factor" when talking about everyone else, but "the only reason" when talking about Alabama winning.

Auburn was > than LSU that year. No one denies that. When two teams are roughly equal then schedule is the difference. LSU has more SEC game wins in the past 3 years than bama. If you count the CG (OOC game vs SEC team) then its equal. Biggest difference is schedule.

Dale, Arky is not a Big VI school. You are behind Mizzou, and beginning next year they will start widening their series lead against the Hogs every Thanksgiving weekend.

It did come into play, but yall overcame it. Just like a player can be a factor in a game and still lose. For example, Jeremy hill was a huge factor against Bama last year, but we still lost. In 2010, Auburns tougher schedule was a factor, but they overcame it and still won. It really is quite simple to understand

Wait, so you are telling me that the better team was really the factor and not schedule? well then

That's right. The only time it is appropriate to attribute all success to one factor is when Cam and $$$$ are mentioned.

i dont know, maybe auburn can handle the tough schedule.
when is the last time bama won the sec with a schedule as tough auburns that year? when is the last time any sec team did? maybe the teams that did were just great teams.

True statement is true. If I remember correctly, like 5 or 6 of Bama's 8 SEC opponents had a bye the week before they played Bama. That seems like a bigger negative to me than the fact that Bama's constant opponent from the East sucks.

I get the frustration SEC fans have toward Bama's schedule and UGA's schedule (expect this year). But it is a rotating thing. It will improve. Didn't Bama just finish playing UF for a few years straight and USCe for a couple of years? I thought those teams just rotated off.

You have a solid point, and this is just one example, but...

That 2011 LSU team that played one of the hardest schedules in history got absolutely dismantled in their final game. So even when it looks SO clear...it's not a definite.
