Grant has admitted that after his time at Alabama, he altered his style of play because he realized that his "defensive, grind it out" style wasn't working.

Dayton is an elite mid major job

Yep, this is the answer. Grant is obviously a good coach, but some guys just aren't the right fit at the right time. Some coaches are great assistants, some coaches are great at mid-majors, but not everyone is going to fit into every situation. Basketball has evolved and systems change.

Just throw it up and see if it sticks.
There's only one moron in your silly statement.

Have any of you seen that Dayton team.. pass the ball beautifully and shoot lights out, in fact, the best in the country. And Grant can recruit.... You don't get an Obi Toppin everyday. I doubt Grant will leave Dayton as that is his alma mater and they have facilities that are as good for the most part as the SEC. Plus Dayton fills their arena every game with over 13000 spectators, win or lose. It is a very well respected basketball school.

What about the sports that actually matter? Y’all must have a lot of baseball, basketball, football (without Nick Saban), right? Saban has been the lone bright spot in your awful “revenue generating” sports since before most college students were born.

Don’t shoot the messenger but A1abama is going back to the cellar as soon as Saban retires

I don't know, Alabama was pretty decent in the 115 years or so before Saban got there.

Watched a lot of college ball this year and Dayton looks like they should be in the Big East competing against those guys. That's not to say the Atlantic 10 isn't a competive league because it is with some pretty good teams, but Dayton is just a notch above them.

We've won national titles in 5 different sports since 2010 alone

We were good in baseball and basketball during the 2000s.

What the hell are you talking about?

No y’all weren’t if medciocre to below average is your definition of “good” then sure. And again, how many national championships did y’all win during that time span in basketball or baseball?

I think Bama pulled the rug under Grant when they saw Auburn getting Pearl. I do not think Bama thought that Grant could keep up with him, so they went out and hired a former NBA coach. We know how that worked out, so then they went back to the same old "fruit of the month" coach, hoping to find the diamond in the rough. Some coaches take a little time to get their footing at a school, Grant just took a little too much time at Bama.

Baseball
2000 : 41-24, NCAA Regionals
2001 : 32-23
2002 : 51-15, SEC Tournament Champs, NCAA Regionals
2003 : 38-24, SEC Tournament Champs, NCAA Regionals
2004 : 29-26
2005 : 40-23, NCAA Regionals
2006 : 44-21, SEC Champions, NCAA Super Regionals
2007 : 31-26
2008 : 35-28, NCAA Regionals
2009 : 37-21, NCAA Regionals
2010 : 42-25, NCAA Super Regionals

5 40 win seasons, 2 SEC Tournament Titles, 1 SEC Title, 8 NCAA Regionals, 2 Super Regionals. So yea, we were pretty good during the 2000s.

Basketball
- 1 SEC Title
- 1 Elite Eight
- 5 NCAA Tournaments
- 5 20+ win seasons
- 0 losing seasons

So yea, we were pretty good in both.

I'm sorry, a program is only "good" at a sport if they win a national title in it? Are you insane? So LSU has sucked in basketball for their entire existence and LSU baseball sucked in the 2010s?

HBCU Southern University has a better resume than Alabama did in baseball during that span. I’m sorry but getting knocked out in the regional in a sport that isn’t generally competitive across the country is awful. Alabama is an embarrassment and you’re an idiot.

ETA: yes, LSU has a weak basketball program. That isn’t any secret. We’ve had solid stretches but I don’t praise mediocrity well enough to pretend that we have a stellar basketball program because we’ve been to the final 4 like 3 times

I refuse to believe you are actually a LSU graduate.

Stellar and awful aren't the only options, but you seem simple minded so I guess that makes sense coming from you.
