So while at Bama, they are putrid. Can’t put a decent team on the court.

Goes to Dayton, now has a Dayton team that is one of the best in the country and is eyeing a #1 seed.

How does this make you feel?

Fine. He was garbage at Alabama and couldn't run a offense. I'm glad he is having success, but he had to be fired.

Only true for 1 of 6 seasons. 4 of the 6 were just that, decent.

Good for Anthony Grant because he's an A+ dude.

I don’t disagree. But it’s kinda crazy. The program needs a shakeup big time

Grant has admitted that after his time at Alabama, he altered his style of play because he realized that his "defensive, grind it out" style wasn't working.

He evolved. Good for him.

It is kinda strange how terrible his teams have been from deep since he got the job at Bama but this Dayton team is shooting 37% from deep. Even his VCU teams were good.

There's a decent chance Grant gets another shot in the SEC

Even stranger, Grant replaced Archie Miller when he left for Indiana and Archie hasn't been back to the tournament since.

Dayton is an elite mid major job

Brian Gregory is terrible and he averaged 22 wins a year there.

Alabama may not aspire to be better than Dayton, but Indiana certainly should

Another strange thing, he really didn't have that extreme slow tempo game until he went to Bama. Two of his three years at VCU they were top half of the country in tempo.

Grantsketball sucked. He must be doing something different, or just got lucky on some recruits.

All in all Grant was OK at Alabama but never could turn the corner.

There are all sorts of reasons that can happen. Maybe he just missed on a key recruit or two. Maybe he got real unlucky with injuries at critical times.

It is great he's doing well at Dayton because, as others have pointed out, he seems like a really nice guy.

A lot tougher to recruit to Alabama.

Alabama sports as a whole have been putrid since 2000 with the exception of Nick Saban. Their school is run by incompetent morons

It's because in his third year at
Dayton, Grant, to his credit, discovered
something called a hurried-up game
and offense.
You might be interested in Dayton fan reaction
to Grant toward the end of his 2nd coaching
season there. Fire Anthony Grant !!

Yep, he obviously recognized that his offense needed to evolve and he was smart enough to put the pieces in place to do it. Good for Grant.

I'd say that's a hell of a lot better than a Head Coach mired in consistent mediocrity with stubbornness and refusal to innovate and evolve his offense then chooses to double down on himself and call all shots on offense only to result in more mediocrity.

We have national titles in football, men's golf, women's golf, softball and gymnastics over the last 10 years.
