I'm not calling for his job because his job is secure through at least 2026.

I am at that point assuming he will never win a natty without another generational QB and WR duo. Really blew it last year with that defense.

If you lose to USCe after three top 10 classes and 3 years into the system then you just ain't it. Only losses to OM, Bama, Georgia, and maybe UT/OU are acceptable.

I've been told on here that he is an elite coach. So no, they'll just buck up and swallow.

Pretty standard language in coaching contracts, are we pretending Ole Miss doesn't do the same for Kiffin?

Mehh not for just making a bowl...Incentives to play in the big bowls and cfp.

"The new contract also provides a $150,000 incentive for each SEC victory per season after the fifth win and $100,000 per victory over non-SEC Power Five teams. Kiffin will also receive $150,000 for making it to the SEC title game or $400,000 for winning the conference.

There are also bowl game incentives, including $250,000 for making it to a New Year’s Six game or $500,000 for playing in a CFP semifinal. A trip to the national title game would instead net $750,000, and winning the national championship would raise his salary by a full $ 1 million. Kiffin can also earn additional incentives for reaching APR goals and season ticket thresholds.

LSU pays Kelly $500k for making it to the liberty bowl, OM pays LK $500k if he makes the CFP. so.... yeah....

He'd earn a $50,000 bonus if Ole Miss plays in the Birmingham Bowl or Independence Bowl, $100,000 for the Taxslayer, Outback, Belk, Music City, Texas or Liberty bowls and $125,000 for the Citrus Bowl.

Also, the $150k per SEC victory would entitle him to $600k just for going 4-4 in conference.

If he has a season like BK did last year, he's getting over $1m in incentives.

The last SEC team to make the Liberty Bowl was 2022 Arkansas, they won 3 SEC games.

Kiffin would've received $450k for that plus $100k to appear in the Liberty Bowl.

Thus, you're actually paying him $550k to appear in the Liberty Bowl, before any other incentives.

You need to read it again boss. He gets $150k starting after the 5th win, which I believe refers to the 5th SEC win.

Edit. Confirmed. SEC wins come after 5th SEC win. From SI.com from 2023
bonus "The largest bonus for the fourth-year Ole Miss coach came for the Rebels reaching the Peach Bowl, giving him a $250,000 bump. He also gained $150,000 for the Rebels' fifth and sixth SEC wins of the season and $100,000 for defeating a non-conference Power Five opponent in the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets."

OM wouldn't have paid a bonus to for just 3 sec wins, and not much of a bowl bonus if any. While Lsu would have paid Kelly $500k.

I see the 5th win disclaimer now, my mistake.

Looks like Kiffin would get $100k for going to the Liberty Bowl.

Kelly just sitting back and thinking. I can win 7-8 a year easy, 9 if I try just a little bit.

Collect my $1 million dollar bonus, enjoy the music city bowl, rinse and repeat.

The funny thing is his winning percentage currently would be one of the best in Ole Miss history.

If we take out the covid year I would say LK's 4 years winning is about the same or better than BK.

LK is 31-10 BK is 21-8

Even counting covid LK is at 70.6% to BK's 72.4%

But back to LSU paying BK to be medicore

Question i have is for all the LSU doomcasting and wishcasting on this board ahead of this matchup, if we win, will the board pipe down about us and BK for a few weeks or will the goalposts shift to “lets see how they look against Arkansas?”

I think you know the answer to that.

SCar isn’t a solid team though and Beamer is average at best.

I just don’t buy everyone saying, “We knew this would be a 4-5 or 5-6 year rebuild.”

He won’t have any more talent than he does already. Will he magically become a better football coach?

BK is mediocre but his winning percentage is better than Lane's.

Interesting.
