The goalposts will shift because it's just "USCe"...

While he did walk into a mess, Kelly has a good foundation on his side. LSU is a unique situation in that we are the sole in state school with no real competition for recruiting within the state. Therefore, he shouldn't have as big of a problem getting us back to where we need to be. Unfortunately for him he made it to Atlanta his first year so everyone got a taste of success and knows it can be done fairly quickly.

...will the board pipe down about us and BK for a few weeks or will the goalposts shift to “lets see how they look against Arkansas?”

Kelly and his program are now under the microscope. It's his own fault that he's feeling the heat and that opposing fanbases are enjoying how close he is to being turned on by LSU fans

LSU will win Saturday. As long as they have their heads right, they should have the talent to withstand South Carolina.

Hot seat. This question has been stupid trolling in the last two seasons. Now it’s legit. His refusal to go into the portal hard to replace obvious depth issues on the DL is going to cost him. I understand his philosophy but I’m not sure he understands ours. We require wins now, not mission statements.

Not really, he'll be here until 2026, at minimum.

I think LSU is still a very good football team. They should have beaten USC, which actually I blame a lot of that loss on BK. He was absolutely atrocious at the end of that game with game management. It cost them the game imo.

I agree. I wasn’t saying he should or will be fired, I’m just saying the seat is going to be HOT.

A good comparison is Michigan. Harbaugh took the job, had decent success in year one, like LSU, but had a massive rebuild it needed to get it back to a championship contending level. Everyone was all over Harbaugh’s case for his first 4 years there and said he was overrated, etc. Well… in his final 3 years, Michigan was an extremely strong program

So you’re just a few cheating scandals and one stallion away from competing?

Some already have. The same “type” that probably wanted Saban ran out of town after losing to UAB.

Im a big picture/process guy. Despite a wonky couple weeks there is still a lot to be excited about in terms of the future. And coming from how the ‘21 season ended to now hasn’t been easy but we’re on the right path.

All this statement proves is how incredibly gullible and naive you truly are.

It may seem that way but his job is very secure.

Maybe not full on retard like Fishers, but its still riding the short bus!

So right here, $1 million dollars a year bonus for being medicore

" Each year, on July 1, Kelly receives a $500,000 longevity bonus if he is still employed and an additional $500,000 if the team makes a bowl game."

Here is the short bus section

"If fired without cause, Kelly will receive 90% of his remaining base salary. If he is fired after winning a National Championship, he is owed the entirety of his salary and a prorated portion of his longevity bonus. This is significant as the last three LSU head coaches all won national titles, and the last two were fired later in their tenures.

Lastly, if Kelly leaves for another job, he only owes the university if athletic director Scott Woodward is still employed. If Woodward is no longer the AD, Kelly can leave without penalty."

Lot of money, to be average

I’ve been an LSU fan since I was a wee lad in 1973. I support Kelly, but he’s a big boy. He knows the rules. The loss to USC was a perception disaster. And the lack of quality depth at DL is likely to bite us.

Also, you seem swollen and tender. Do you need a binky or something?

Pretty standard language in coaching contracts, are we pretending Ole Miss doesn't do the same for Kiffin?
