It was a freak injury. Guy completely whiffed trying to tackle ellington and hit right into Lattimore's knee.

Garcia gone, Lattimore out! Sorry to hear this, Gamecocks. You guys don't get many chances to win the SEC, hate that it comes down to this.

New prediction: LSU/Bama vs. UGA in SEC-CG

you never want to see any kid go out with an injury, but i doubly hate to see a great athlete like lattimore out.

Sucks he was fun to watch yesterday, even if he wasn't putting up the 200 yards I had anticipated.

To be fair I think there was already a consensus amongst Gamecock fans that even before Lattimore got injured if we made it to the SECCG we were going to get crushed by LSU/Bama.

Torn ligament, out for year.

Nauseating circumstance, hate it for him more than what it does to the team.

That sucks and I hope he has a quick and full recovery.

with as much work load as Spurrier was putting on him because of an ineffective Garcia, I'm a bit surprised that it was a freak injury that got him.

f not the complete opposite. Don't have any stats, but I would guess more injuries occur when a player is not stretched properly and not been playing all day.

Very doubtful. RBs take a tremendous pounding over their careers. There is a reason the shelf for a RB is so short, and its not because of lack of stretching. I'm speaking generally not specifically about Marcus.

Not sure if serious.

If you run a lot you get injured on a fluke play while split out to block? Tell us more.

You are going to see a lot of this "when you run the ball 50 times per game" crap. People obviously haven't followed us that closely this season.
