Not necessarily. Their rankings reflect who they think are truly the top 25 teams. But their projections reflect what they think the committee will do when taking into account RPI, SOS, etc

Arky, here we come maybe:

Latest D1Baseball projection has Oklahoma moved off of the “Last Four In” line and more comfortably in the field

Sooners are slotted as the 3-seed in No. 3 Arkansas’ region.

OU now has 10 wins this season over conference champions. Texas-3, Stanford-2, OSU-2, WVU-1, DBU-1, ORU-1.

Come on down! We haven’t lost a regional in 6 years so it should be a good time

Auburn is a lock to host already, imo. They got to 17 regular season SEC wins. If they win the SECT then maybe in conversation as a national seed.

I honestly think the winner of tonight’s game locks in the three seed and loser locks in four seed. Not a huge difference in grand scheme of things.

It has less to do with South Carolina and more to do with everyone around them failing utterly.

Actually, it kinda is surprisingly. The 3 seed would likely get Florida in Omaha on their side and the 4 gets Wake Forest on that side. So opposite sides of the bracket in Omaha.

How the hell are we hosting?

I think we tend to forget the quality (or lack thereof) on a grand scale outside of the SEC.

Whoever gets us as a 3 seed is going to be pissed. We might have a top 30 RPI & 15 Q1 wins after the SECT. We went 6-4 in SEC series win series wins over UK, UF, & Auburn. Sure, we have plenty of warts, but that is some high points on the ole resume for a 3.

Drop South Carolina. I think Kentucky is not likely but I hope they do get to host. RPI certainly could justify it. Auburn and Alabama have certainly played into deserving to host. Definitely 6, hopefully 7, definitely not 8.

There really are

you might be surprised at the RPI's of teams that are winning or near the top of some "major conferences"

There are a bunch of teams trying to fall bass ackwards into these last 2-3 hosting spots but they all just continue to fall flat on their faces

This along with the UGA gives me hope. The SEC is just so damn good this year, I am hopeful that when we play some of these other schools we can find our bats again.

When u look at a national perspective of college baseball they don't want more than 2 sec teams in Omaha they will make sure of that between the regionals and super regionals these teams will have to play each other again not counting regular season and sec tourney.

agreed.. the projections already have 2 vs 15 and 7 vs 10 in the supers.. those two play each other in Omaha game 1

if they did the same thing on 3, 6, 11, 14, one half of the bracket would be blocked unless A&M made a run

There must be a lack of teams deserving to host across the country if the sec gets 8, that might be the record. I still don’t think sec gets 8, 5-6 teams is about the average of what sec usually gets.

It would be a record. Ben was explaining it during the auburn bamma game as I was reading your post. Twas weird!
