As for making the playoffs with a 9-3 record, ignoring the fact it's the SEC, I read on another board that these teams were ranked 12 or higher since the playoffs began, and might be in with a 12 team playoff. All with 3 losses

2017 Auburn #7
2018 Washington #9
2019 Wisconsin #8
2020 Florida #7
2021 Utah #11

So, 9/10 years, at least one 3-loss team would've made the playoffs. And 7 out of 10 years, the highest rated 3-loss team was ranked at least #9.

There was no "benefit of the doubt". FSU was atrocious with out Travis. If they had an even serviceable backup they would have been in. That team without Travis wasn't even top 25.

Our "decline" is 9-3 which is a banner year for your program. Our "decline" is literally the first year of a new coach and an entirely new system and staff.
Talking about people not living in reality, what idiot already says the program is in decline in literally the first year of a massive program transition and the first year record is 9-3 and a spot in the playoffs? Hey "bro", Saban's teams post 2020 were very undisciplined and sloppy. He still had just enough influence to keep it together but was losing influence in the NIL/Transfer portal world. It's literally why he retired. NO ONE will ever replicate what Saban did at Bama. NO ONE. There's not one Alabama fan alive who expects it. So again, you have no idea what you're talking about wrt what Bama fans expect.
We'll be just fine, we'll still win SEC titles and NC's, but not at the rate Saban did and no one expects that. But this big "demise" other fans are predicting is on the same shelf as bigfoot and the easter bunny. Again, our "demise" will be your schools banner years. But Saban was the greatest to ever coach the college game, so that's not surprising.
As another poster said, for DeBoer to go 9-3 with an entirely new staff hired in January in February, and with Jalen Milroe at qb, you'd have to be a moron to think that's not reasonably good. Never mind that up from January till the season cranked up all the SEC Rant dummies were telling us that Alabama's roster was trashed after all the transfers. Keep moving the goalposts.

I hate Alabama but they deserved it more than Victim State. I think Ole Miss is the most deserving of the bubble teams but both deserve it over Carolina because they actually won the game
