Had forgotten Florida lost to Mizzou like that this year. And it was such a joyous moment when it happened.

Too bad we let them score that garbage touchdown at the end of the game. Would've been a lot worse than 40-17 without the walkons in.

Losing to a program in decline by 30 pts is kind of embarassing no?

I think the post only relates to 28+ point wins that mattered, so it would not count anyway.

I'd guess that is one of those WW2 games where a school (I'd guess Florida) doesn't count it as an actual game.

EDIT : Per the wikis

quote:

The 1942 Florida Gators football team represented the University of Florida during the 1942 college football season. The season was Tom Lieb's third as Florida's head coach. By the autumn of 1942, World War II had begun to affect many college football programs. Florida lost several players and most of its coaching staff to the war effort before the season, and lost several more players during the season, leading to diminishing success as the schedule progressed.

we canceled the 1917 and 1918 seasons to fight in the war.

If you're going to field a team, the game counts.

that's really all that needs to be said. I'm sure their win over Auburn earlier in the year still counts

Could be worse. It could’ve been on the biggest stage after claiming to be the best team ever

We have been told REPEATEDLY that a football team leaving to fight a war is a bullshite excuse.
