I think it is going to be Arkansas or Florida again, but Kentucky and Bama had good years too.

Golf, you’re coming off as a whiner when your school has been in the top half and as SoG has shown you’re on the rise. In the last 4 years Arkansas is up 28%.

What are you worked up about?

If anyone should be crying it’s aTm. How long have they been on the league? When the competition got tougher for them their ranking dropped.

Florida has been at the top of the SEC, and in the select few of the NCAA, for its commitment to be competitive across the entire Athletic Department. Learfield changing their scoring system moved a lot of the SEC schools towards the top.

Texas will join the SEC near the top (#1 in 2021) and OU somewhere in the middle of the pack.

In 2021-22, Texas has 3 National Championships, 3 NCAA 2nd place finishes, will finish 1 or 2 in Mens Golf, Women are in Softball CWS, Baseball is in progress, and both Mens & Womens Track should finish top 10. Football, Men Basketball & Womens Soccer are the only programs not to finish in the equivalent of the Sweet 16.

Texas Football is the only sport, mens or womens, that did not make a showing in the "post season."

Texas & OU for comparison:

10 Year Average
UF 3.3
Texas 7.2
A&M 12.1
UGA 14.5
LSU 17.6
OU 18.6
Ark. 19.9
UK 20.2
UA 22.9
AU 32.6
UT 33.8
USCe 34.5

2011-2017 Avg vs 2018-2021 Avg (Most Improved to Least Improved)
*. Texas (63% up) (8.9 to 3.3, #1 in 2021)
1. Kentucky (37% up) (23 to 14)
2. Ole Miss (34% up) (59 to 39)
3. Alabama (31% up) (25 to 17)
4. Arkansas (28% up) (22 to 16)
5. Missouri (22% up) (44 to 34)
6. Tennessee (20% up) (36 to 29)
7. South Carolina (18% up) (36 to 30)
8. Mississippi State (16.5% up) (58 to 48)
9. Georgia (15.7% up) (15 to 13)
10. LSU (3% up) (18.1 to 17.7)
11. Vanderbilt (2% up) (53 to 52)
12. Auburn (11% down) (32 to 35)
13. Florida (17% down) (3.1 to 3.7)
14. Texas A&M (41% down) (10.4 to 14.7)
*. OU (83% down) (14.9 to 27.3)

With out doubt Texas has been a well rounded program. I’ve always seen them in the mix with the Directors Cup. That’s all you really want. Be competitive.

Obviously football is the sport that makes everything else run. Not everyone can be Bama. Being Bama once in a while is cool tho. Being UF is even better… to me.

My general barometer of success is:
FB - compete for conference title

Men's BskB - NCAAT

Men's Baseball - NCAAT

Softball - CWS

Women's BskB - NIT/NCAAT

Gym - Final 4

All Track - Top 10

All Swimming - Top 10

Golf - Make national match play

Everybody else - top half SEC/make postseason tourneys

We've been pretty close to that the last 2-3 years. Our biggest failures have been men's golf (which is depressing) and volleyball

I didn't take it that way. Wasn't sure if you were talking to me actually. Not sure why Golfer1 needs his ego stroked or his team acknowledged. If anything we are proving that his team is competitive. Him saying Arky has been carrying the league the last few years is a stretch.

Yeah, well, some people are delusional.

IMO Bama and LSU in the west and UGA and UF in the east, everyone else needs to sit down.

for the most part those four programs have been "carrying the conference" for the last two decades.

Texas just wrapped up the Director's Cup for the 2nd year in a row with the Men's golf title, Stanford had a 25 year run prior to 20-21.

Typical teasipper, bragging about an award for a bunch of sports that most people could care less about except if you are either competing in them or your kids are. I doubt BoilerPenis Doc even realizes what the award is for. He/she just thinks it sounds good because it is an award with a trophy.

They are going to be a great fit in the SEC.

Barnhart deserves some of the shite he gets occasionally for Big 3 coaching decisions in his career at Kentucky but he’s absolutely been a miracle worker for the Olympic sports. Especially T&F.

I think you mean "couldn't care less", which is typical for someone with an aggie education. Also, you'd be wrong.

Your own school issued a press release for finishing in 19th place last year

And nobody on this board cares about it either

Go back to the Big 12 boards or maybe surlyhorns. Maybe somebody there will care.

Lol, Buster, you are my favorite reject to pick on because you fall flat on your face every single time.

"Nobody cares what you stupid meanie sip bullies finished first place in "
*posts article from Buster's school doing cartwheels over finishing in the top 20*
"Oh yea... well we don't care what our own school says! Win something that matters "
*points out that a&m can't win titles in the sports that "matter" either*
"Oh yea... well, you're still not in the SEC yet even though the league office forced our school to help vote you in unanimously "

Never change, rejects. Never change.
Btw, did you know that Texas has won more national titles in the last 5 days than your school has in the past 5 years?

Our men's and women's track teams (both ranked No. 1) just need to avoid laying an egg. If they each finish in the top 2 or 3, I think the director's cup is back in Austin regardless of whether the baseball team goes 0-2 in their own regional or makes it to Omaha.
