That’s the point. Carroll was a bad coach before he got to usc and then figured it out. Lane already showed some progress at FAU and ole miss and now has. A chance to win at the highest levels

Agreed. LSU fans are beating their tiger chests about their upcoming championships. But, then they remember doing this exact same thing 4 years ago. That is when the doubt and fear creep in.

I don't know what you do for a living but if you were chained to Jamarcus Russell against your will and you depended on him to perform at a peak level immediately you wouldnt have made it either. He got fired from USC with a winning record coaching a bare bones roster because of recruiting penalties. Everywhere Kiffin has spent time and coached his own way he's been successful. Not elite but successful.

This is a wild take. Coach O has been a part of 5 national championship staffs. He was openly sabotaged at LSU after the natty because his personal life went to shite and he handled it like he was 17. He's not a genius or a cerebral type of coach. He knows how to build a staff and get the players that staff wants and then make said players run thru a damn wall for him. I'm not saying he should still be the head coach but saying he's lucky is wild. I'm sure there's luck or "lightning in a bottle" in every championship run but he did it 5 times.

Our last coach was so bad, he was responsible for the worst defense in LSU history as well as one of the worst offenses and got fired mid-season.
He was so bad, he was one of Notre Dame's most winningest coaches.

Whoa there, pump the success brakes. I love how some people think that Lane is definitely going to win natties and the guy hasn't even coached a game at LSU yet. I need to see results first.
